Exploring the possibilities of welfare and design, the story of Shibuyafont

福祉とデザインは、一見関係ないように思えるかもしれません。しかし、実は、福祉とデザインは、お互いに刺激を与え合い、新しい価値を生み出すことができるのです。その証拠に、渋谷発のプロジェクト「シブヤフォント」があります。
At first glance, welfare and design may seem unrelated. But in fact, welfare and design can stimulate each other and create new value. Proof of this is the "Shibuya Font," a project originating in Shibuya.

シブヤフォントとは、障がいがある人とデザインを学ぶ学生とがタッグを組んでデータ（フォント・パターン）を生み出し、同データのライセンス事業を展開し、売上の一部を福祉に還元するプロジェクトです。
The project is a collaboration between people with disabilities and design students to create data (fonts and patterns), develop a licensing business for the data, and return a portion of the proceeds to the welfare of the disabled.

障がいのある方と健常者（学生）の方とコラボして制作された作品。このような作品を題材とした企業研修（デザイン思考）等でも活用。タイトルやセリフを考えるなど、色んなアイデアが共有されました。Works created in collaboration with people with disabilities and able-bodied people (students). GOTOUCHI FONT（ご当地フォント）は、障がいのある人、デザイナー、障がい者支援事業所が共同で制作するフォントやパターンを日本中、世界中に届けるプロジェクトです。

GOTOUCHI FONTは、渋谷発祥の「シブヤフォント」の仕組みを全国に展開しようと立ち上げられたプロジェクトです。シブヤフォントは、障がいのある人が描いた文字や絵をオープンフォントとして社会に提供し、企業や団体に使ってもらうことで、渋谷を元気にするシティプロモーションです。

GOTOUCHI FONTの公式ウェブサイトは、https://www.gotouchifont.jp/です。ダウンロードできるフォントには、ビニールテープワーク萌フォント、Peace font #1Fukushuなどがあります

GOTOUCHI FONT is a project to deliver fonts and patterns produced jointly by people with disabilities, designers, and offices supporting people with disabilities throughout Japan and around the world.GOTOUCHI FONT is a project launched to expand the "Shibuya Font" system, which originated in Shibuya, throughout Japan. Shibuya FONT is a city promotion project to revitalize Shibuya by providing letters and pictures drawn by people with disabilities to society as open fonts for use by businesses and organizations.The official GOTOUCHI FONT website is https://www.gotouchifont.jp/です. このプロジェクトは、2023年9月29日に東京ビッグサイトで開催された「H.C.R.2023 第50回国際福祉機器展＆フォーラム」（以下、H.C.R. 2023）のメインステージで特別展示されました。約10万人が参加するアジア最大級の福祉機器展示会の中で、「フクシ×デザイン＝可能性〜産官学福の共創で社会をつなぐ〜」というテーマで、シブヤフォントのクリエイティブストーリーを国内外に発信しました。
This project was specially exhibited on the main stage of the "H.C.R. 2023 50th International Home Care & Rehabilitation Exhibition & Forum" ("H.C.R. 2023") held at Tokyo Big Sight on September 29, 2023. In one of Asia's largest welfare equipment exhibitions with approximately 100,000 attendees, Sibuya Font's creative story was shared both domestically and internationally under the theme " Welfare x Design = Possibility - Connecting Society through Co-Creation of Industry, Government, Academia, and Fortune".

展示では、シブヤフォントに共に取り組む産・官・学・福のメンバーたちの活動や作品を巨大なバナーや日本地図で表現しました。
The exhibition featured giant banners and a map of Japan showing the activities and works of members from industry, government, academia, and fortune who are working together on the Shibuyafont.

障がい者と学生がタッグを組むプロジェクト

Project to team up with students and people with disabilities

障がい者と学生がタッグを組むプロジェクトの一つに、「DO-IT Japan」というプロジェクトがあります。このプロジェクトは、障害や病気のある若者たちの進学や就労を後押しし、未来の社会のリーダーとなる人材を育成することを目的としています。
One of the projects in which students and people with disabilities work together is called DO-IT Japan. This project aims to encourage young people with disabilities and illnesses to pursue higher education and employment, and to develop human resources who will become future leaders of society.
DO-IT Japanでは、障がい者と学生がオンラインやオフラインで交流し、互いに学び合ったり、メンターとして支え合ったりします。また、様々な分野の専門家や企業とも連携し、キャリアや社会貢献に関するワークショップやインターンシップなども行っています。
At DO-IT Japan, people with disabilities and students interact online and offline to learn from each other and support each other as mentors. We also collaborate with professionals and companies in various fields to offer workshops and internships related to careers and social contribution.
DO-IT Japanの参加者は、「スカラー」と呼ばれます。スカラーは、「自分らしい選択ができる」社会に向けて、自分の夢や目標を追求し、自信や能力を高めていきます。
DO-IT Japan participants are called "Scholars". Scholars will pursue their own dreams and goals, and enhance their confidence and abilities toward a society where people can "make their own choices".
DO-IT Japanは、2023年に開催された「H.C.R.2023 第50回国際福祉機器展＆フォーラム」で、「DO-IT Japan スカラープログラム」というイベントを行いました。このイベントでは、スカラーたちが自分の経験や気付きを発表し、多くの人々に感動や刺激を与えました。

At the H.C.R. 2023 50th International Home Care & Rehabilitation Exhibition & Forum, Shibuyafont presented a special exhibit titled "Welfare x Design = Possibilities - Connecting Society through Co-Creation by Industry, Government, Academia, and Fortune".
