Rasho no Kimon （羅生の鬼門・中国語では鬼門関), also known as Yaksha's Gate, Demon's Gate where malicious spirits and cacodaemoons gather and congregate that is being checked and guarded by immortal Yakshas, ; here Men were ordered to recite in repentance perfectly whatever they have remembered in life, whatever lessons, whatever hopes left; like in an elementary school Chinese literature class where one is required to recite ancient Chinese poems by their cold and expressionless ancestors to the teacher in charge before taking class recess; what a recession it would be too, after all, this is very Chinese.

運命に翻弄され、孤独にさまよう亡霊たちの長い列が、生と死の境界の前に、混乱と混沌の中で並んで、待っている。溺れた蓮とその香りでいっぱいだ。彼らの足元は静かに燃える『死気』*1の地表はあまりにも多くの湿り気を帯びっていて、それは涙の海によるものだ。赤らん顔と肌から放たれる恥辱の熱も、彼らの頭上に広がる暗黒の常に穏やかで無反応な無言の黒い大地の蒼穹の視線を浴びてままで放射されている。

それも何という休憩の時だろう！
なにより、これはいかにも東洋らしいだから。

目の前には、ジャーナリストで政治・哲学活動家でもある真面目な男が、いつも気長で落ち着かなく待っている夜叉の審判官の前に、厳粛で悲しげな表情で現れた。鬼門関、鬼たちの羅生門の黒く朽ち果て、崩れ落ちた木枠の上にある永遠の座に夜叉の審判官は座っていて、そして現在、彼に心底から暖かくて冷たい微笑みを送っている---見慣れた光景だ。夜叉はこうして彼に問う：

And then the sad, nodding lotus went forth to happy lotus paradise in the scented lotus garden within a blue heaven pond, above the sacred mountain beyond life and death.

Dwarf smirks back much sterner, blacker, with even more subterrain expression than the oni-judges and overall, an all-around evil-look, at the hopelessly lusty yet potentless and powerless presiding Judge good-Yaksha:

"Cum! Sick Tod is!" (thus, I have cummed, bitter Death.)

"Come back! and try again!"

この見慣れた光景を見て、公平な裁判官である、悪意ある善良に溢れてた夜叉は、厳しく、黒く微笑む："あなたの過去への思い、あなたの渡世の今時、そしてあなたの向かている目的地はなんだ、短くて不幸な男？"

A smile of sad, happy understanding surfaces on both their many times tried, jaded and yet as much made joyfully sorrowful face. Thus once again the dwarf did not pass the Gate of Demons and went back to his purgatory above the black firmament that is the ever calm and irresponsive mute black Earth. So he would be caught and found out by the clueless judges above the ground and sentenced him back to that prison colony below the ground in a Saxon ship destined to shipwreck and be blown to the damned demon-haunted North-East.

悲しみと喜びに満ちた理解の微笑みが、彼らの何度も試され、疲れ果てながらも喜悲交じりの顔に浮かび上がった。
そして再び、その小人は羅生の鬼門を通過せず、こうして、いつも穏やかで無反応な、沈黙の黒い大地の上にいる煉獄に戻った。
そして、またある日で再び地上の無知な判事たちに捕まり、発見され、サクソンの囚人船で、地の下のあの牢獄の流刑地に送り返される事を宣告するのだろう、あの難破し、呪われた魑魅魍魎の棲む北東に吹き飛ばされる運命の船で。

*1 ground-aether: imaginary substance that is like heavenly aether but fills the subterrain world of the dead / underworld. serving as grounds that supports the foothold of ghosts in afterlife. 
死気：自分の想像された黄泉こ国、冥土に充満された燃えている気・cthutonic / subterrain aether・太陰の気。死後世界で幽霊たちの足を支える地面になる。
