Yappari Eigo wo yaritai! -Still, I want to "do" English!

Hey there. How's it going? Gentle Gian is here.

Today, I'd love to share my reading review after a long time with you.
I finished reading "Yappari Eigo wo yaritai! by Kumiko Torikai" a few days ago.

The author is famous as an instructor on the TV program "Ota Hikari no tsubuyaki eigo." She is also an emeritus professor at Rikkyo University and used to be a professional interpreter. I heard she had interpreted The Apollo 11 Moon Landing. She is an actual leading authority. That's amazing!

In this book, she mentions that outrageous amounts of information, including fake news, flow into the world nowadays. So, we need to make sure which information is accurate.

For instance, how to learn English. Some advertisements say, "You just do this," or "It takes only a short term," and so on. If this is true, I'd already mastered speaking English! She also says, "It is important to try many ways, but you should see through if the ways suit you." I totally agree with her.

I'd already tried many learning methods, and finally, I found suitable ones. I'm sure these cover the "four techniques:" reading, listening, speaking, and writing. So, I believe in myself and will keep doing them.

Even though AI developed, should we keep learning English?

Definitely, we should. To avoid being AI-operated puppets and being commanded by them. We have extraordinary abilities they don't, like emotions and warm hearts.

Reading this book made me feel like starting to learn a second foreign language. I might begin to do so shortly.

That's all for today. See you around.
