it fell---but not light like story-yarns--why is it so heavy?
それは落ちてきたーーだが、物語の糸のように軽くはないーー
なぜそんなに重いなのか？
and why has it turned dark now?
そして、なぜ今は暗くなってしまったのか？
in silence scattering to the wind---faint smarting and cold, dissipated
静寂の中、風に散り散りになって---微かで冷たく疼く
upon touch, and escaping from your pinched grasp from the seams
触れると霧散し、あなたの指の継ぎ目から、
between your fingers----is it night-sand?
あなたの摘まんだ手から逃げていく---それは夜の砂なのだろうか？

why is it moist? why is it sad? why does it dissolve in the air?
なぜそれは湿っている？なぜ悲しい？なぜ空気に溶けていく？
fragrance---damp fragrance---well-aged fruit-wine in a cold old cellar,
香り---湿った香り---枯れたブドウの木でいっぱいの、
filled with dead vines; how many more dead stories and wonders?
冷たい古いセラーで熟成された果実酒；死んだ物語と驚異はあといくつあるのだろう？
Why is it dancing upon one leg---jumping? pregnant with good humour?
なぜ片足で踊ってーー跳びているのか？良きユーモアを孕んでいるのか？
dripping and dropping driblets and droplets all over---in a circle.
滴り落ちて、滴り落ちて、雫と露が飛び散るーー円を描く
Why is it such a great harvest scythe?
なぜそれは偉大なる収穫の大鎌なのだ？
A sharp thing that cuts down the golden crops.
黄金の作物を切り倒す鋭利なもの。
In a flowering circle of dancing, jubilating silver.
舞い踊る、歓喜に満ちた銀の花の輪の中で。

It flows----
それは流れる---
White and cold, it flows----
白く冷たい、それは流れる---
I understood,
私は理解した、
these are my own white and dead seeds upon my hand.
これは私の手の上にある、私自身の白く死んだ種なのだと。

Inspired by the imagery for the passing of Time and coming of Death in the form of spider web that forms on the hands etc. at the end of a Turkish  dancing folksong MV.
please forgive me for not providing the source as I don't think my poem respects the original intent of the folksong. the folksong was not supposed to be sexually siggestive.
