Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle (PHV)
A hybrid vehicle (HV) that can be charged by connecting to an external power source. Unlike electric vehicles (EVs), it is equipped with both an engine and an electric motor, so it is possible to run while generating electricity with the engine and charging the battery. In addition to being suitable for long-distance driving, in the event of a disaster, it can also be used as a "generator" that generates electricity with the engine, rather than just using a charged battery.
However, it has been pointed out that if the vehicle is continued to be driven as an EV, the gasoline in the fuel tank may deteriorate.

プラグインハイブリッド車（ＰＨＶ）
外部から電源をつないで充電できるハイブリッド車（ＨＶ）。電気自動車（ＥＶ）と異なり、エンジンと電気モーターの両方を搭載しているため、エンジンで発電してバッテリーを充電しながら走行することも可能。長距離運転に適しているほか、災害時には充電済みのバッテリーを使うだけでなく、エンジンで発電する「発電機」としても活用できる。
　一方、ＥＶとしての走行が続いた場合、燃料タンクのガソリンが劣化する可能性も指摘されている。
