as the hero slays heart of the dragon---
that lyndwyrm*2 but laughs:
verily thou hast slain,
the beating heart of infinity,
and from thee then I flee,
take a hold of my gold as thou wilt,
take them away as thou shalt,
while it still glitters and is warm;
I am a sad manticore*3,
was just warming them, to keep warm,
lest them be cold and dead when heroes do arrive.
and crave for things never meant for them---the warmth,
and light flees, though golden, I perish, I die.

英雄の主人公がドラゴンの心臓を倒すと---。

The literal root of dragon is the Greek word draco, referring to a tyrant, a monarch who sets strict laws and regulations, and an humorless judicial officer. Here, the curse of lindwyrm (worm-dragon) of 'stealing and protecting golden illusions, but in the end stolen by others, by the universe'.

dragonの字源はギリシャ語のdraco、暴君や厳しい法令を定める君主、杓子定規な司法官のことを指す。
ここでは、「黄金の幻想を盗んで守る、しかし最後は他人によって、宇宙によって盗まれる」のlindwyrmリントヴルム（リンドワーム、ワームドラゴン）の呪い。
