The Beat of Black Wings by Joni Mitchell

なんの因果か行きついたページ。音楽関係のお仕事をされていた方がつけていたタイトルがこの曲。（さすがええ趣味してはる）

Google検索してみたら、Joni Mitchell のインタビューがついた YouTube がピックアップされていました。

状況は改善されているようですが、退役軍人ホームレスはいまでもアメリカの大きな社会問題のひとつです。

ストレス発散にディクテーションしてみました。（どんな趣味やねん）

During the Vietnam War, most of my friends in New York City were finding any event where they could avoid the draft.  Ah, giving himself drag-induced-psychosis, anything, escaping across the border.  I was playing in Fort Bragg　for soldiers who were coming...back from the war and going to the war.  Anyway, one night I came off stage having played to a mostly military audience, and there was a young kid in my dressing room who was as mad as could be at me and he said, "You gotta lotta nerve standing up there sister," and "Singing about love,"  he said, "There ain't no love, not in this world," and "I'm gonna tell you where love went."  And he fell into my arms, weeping, and told me these terrible tales of what happened to him in Vietnam.  The Beat of Black Wings is a story of a bitter soldier. 

YouTube のページに英語の歌詞がついていますが、Charlie Angel は Killer kyle と名乗った若い兵士のベトナムで戦死した親友のようです。 チャーリーズ・エンジェルじゃなかった…

あと男性コーラスが謎。(・・?　いえ、いい雰囲気出てるんですけどなんか意味が込められてるのかどうか。

油井大三郎『好戦の共和国アメリカ』岩波書店（2008年）によると、アメリカでのベトナム戦争の徴兵拒否者は約21万人。不名誉除隊者は約56万人。戦死者は約5万8千人。

久保文明『アメリカ政治史』有斐閣（2018年）によると、南北ベトナム兵士と解放戦線の死者は約110万人。ベトナム一般市民の死者は約100万人。

ベトナムはどんだけ大変だったんだという話です。(^0^;)

やりきれない曲なんですけど、Joni Mitchell は本当に歌が上手です。

もしかしたらユーミンよりうまいかもしれない。
