"Ballet and Classic" from Vadim Repin and Svetlana Zakharova バレエ感想㉟「バレエ&クラシック　ザハーロワとレーピン」昌賢学園まえばしホール

Even in the most chaotic era here in Japan in 2023, people always seek the true artist and impactful performance. Definitely, saying with certainty, I became a spectator of the soul moving performance in December 2023, here in my beloved country, Japan.
The world famous violinist Vadim Repin and universally known prima ballerina Svetlana Zakharova performed the brilliant combination at the Maebashi-city, Gunma of Japan.

As a spectator, it was a great pleasure that I could watch their exquisite performance here in Japan, and huge honour I could be the part of the concert. I decided to go to this concert because I was overwhelmed by their first brilliant collaboration performance in Nagoya- Aichi, 2016. 
I am a big ballet fan and even though it was 7 years since I last seen their wonderful performance, I've looked forward to watching this collaboration of Zakharova and Repin.

"The dying swan" is one of the greatest world ballet heritage, and how wonderful was "California Poppy"!
Zakharova introduced "California Poppy" inspired by the well known historical ballerina Anna Pavlova. Yuri Possokhov re-coreographed this ballet for Zakharova, she said. Zakharova's dance appears as if it is the lovely melody of her husband's violin. One could feel the love in this performance. I have no doubt everyone in the audience could feel it thanks to the wonderful melody and Zakharova's splendid movement.

In act.2, Repin and Zakharova participated in a discussion with hosts. They talked about their daily routine, favourite role, upcoming performance and their life.

Something that remained in my heart is Repin's words when one of the hosts asked how could we play beautiful music like him. Repin's answer was that it takes a lot of time to make a beautiful sound and we need a lot of practice. First of all, we should play accurately according to the score, but he also mentioned how we need to express our uniqueness and personality through sound. Ultimately passing on our music to the audience. In order to achieve that, practice only is not enough. We need to experience various things like meeting a lot of people, listening different kinds of music, reading plenty of books, and absorb information around us. We can use our stored experience and express it with sound.

Repin performed "Tchaikovsky - Lensky's aria from Eugene Onegin" and "Edvard Grieg- Violin Sonata No. 3" with Japanese talented pianist Kaoruko Igarashi.  
And also, Repin and Igarashi played "Tchaikovsky - Souvenir d'un lieu cher, Op. 42: III. Melodie" and "Saint-Saens - The Swan ( Le Cygne ) - Carnival of the Animals", with his beloved wife Svetlana Zakharova who is well known ballerina of the Bolshoi Theatre. Zakharova performed at the Japanese premier of "California Poppy" with Tchaikovsky's music, and her masterpiece "The Dying Swan" with Saint-Saens. 
Everybody was satisfied with this great performance and we definitely would love to watch this again soon!

世界的バイオリニストのワディム・レーピンとボリショイバレエ団プリシパルのスヴェトラーナ・ザハーロワ夫妻が2023年12月に群馬県前橋市に来日するとのことで、正直半信半疑でチケットを購入していました。
結局公演は無事に開催され、レーピンのヴァイオリンはこの世のものとは思えぬ美しさで、ザハーロワの美しさも健在でした。急遽参加されたピアニストの五十嵐薫子さんの演奏もとても素敵でした。この大変なご時世にコンサートを主催してくださった群馬県前橋市さん、前橋市民文化会館さんに心から感謝しています。

今回、特に第2部のトークショーが面白かったので、覚えている範囲で書いてみます。

Q.ザハーロワの1日のスケジュールについて
公演ない日は朝からレッスン。体の動きを正しい位置にする。
夜の公演がある日は3時くらいに劇場入りして夜まで仕事がある。

Q.ザハーロワの好きな演目は何か
沢山ある。いつもその時に踊っているものが1番好き。だから今回は、今回踊った瀕死の白鳥とカリフォルニアポピーが1番好き

Q.レーピンに、なぜそんな音が出せるのか。
バイオリンを習い始めても半年は音が出せない。楽譜を正確に弾くのは基本だけど、その中に自分の個性をどれだけ出すか、自分にあった表現を出せるかが大事。
そのためには、色々な人に会ったり音楽を聞いたり本を読んだりして、練習以外にも色々なことを学ぶ必要がある。それを貯めて自分の音に出していく。

Q.レーピンは温泉好きと聞いたが
ワディムもスヴェトラーナも温泉が好き。お風呂に入って暖まるだけでなく、懐石料理は温泉宿によって違い、とても好き。コンサートに来てくれるお客様にも、同じ内容で飽きられてしまわないように、懐石料理のようにお客様を楽しませるようにしたい。

Q.一緒に仕事することはあるのか？
夫婦だから一緒に住んでいるが、一緒に練習することは基本的にない。ただし、Pas de deux for toes and fingersのように、一緒に出演する公演があるときは一緒に練習する。

Q.お互いの尊敬するところについて
（2人とも照れてなかなか話そうとしない）
レーピンいわく、自分たちは2人とも芸術家であり、自分はバイオリニストだから音が大事で、耳が大事。だけどスヴェトラーナは自分自身がバイオリンとなって音を奏でる存在。お互いの大変さをよく理解している。
ザハーロワいわく、レーピンはバイオリンを持って生まれてきたのかと思うくらい、バイオリンはレーピンに合っている。他の楽器を持つレーピン は想像できない。尊敬しているし、愛してる。

Q.来年の公演予定について
来年も日本に来て公演するために現在オーガナイザーと話し合っている。
演目は今回踊った瀕死の白鳥と、ユーリ・ポソホフ振り付けのカリフォルニアポピーは入れる予定。カリフォルニアポピーはチャイコフスキーの曲を使っていて、アンナ・パブロワに影響を受けたもの。振り付けはアンナのものとは違うけど、かなりインスピレーションを得た。
また新国立劇場には若い頃に何度も招聘してもらい、新国立劇場にも牧阿佐美先生にも非常に恩を感じてる。牧先生は亡くなってしまったけど、牧先生のことは慕っていて、色々踊らせてもらった作品の中でも特に牧先生のライモンダのアダージオが好きでよく公演で踊っているので、次回来日時も必ず踊りたい。

最後にレーピンより、お客さんたちに来てくれてありがとうと謝意が述べられました。ピアニストも予定の方が肘を怪我して来日出来なくなってしまい、急遽五十嵐薫子さんに頼んだけど、1日しか合わせてないのにとても気持ちよく演奏できたとのことで、とても感謝されていました。

2人でワルツを踊りながら退場していく様子が、夫婦仲の良さを表していて、とても微笑ましかったです。ピアニストの五十嵐さんも代役とは思えぬ素敵な演奏でした。ぜひまた聴きたいです。
