「厄年」を英語で言ってみる❣️

１．「厄年」とは何でしょう？
厄年 民間信仰によれば、人間は一生のうち何歳かの時に病気になったり他の不幸にみまわれたりするものだそうです。何歳でこのような災難にあうかは、地域的にも歴史的にもいろいろといわれています。最も普通の言い方では、男性は42歳ら女性は33歳が危険な年だそうです。これらの年齢を厄年とするのは、昔の男女の健康状態からきたのでしょう。また、これらの2ケタ数は音のうえでアンラッキー・ナンバーとなっています。42はシニとも読め、死という語と同音です。同じように、33はサンザン(散々)と発音され、非運の状態を意味します。これらの厄年をむかえる男女は、親戚や友人にごちそうするものとされています。この不運をみんなで分かち合うようにお願いするためです。また、神社やお寺に行って、悪霊の退散を祈ります。厄年の1年前は前厄とよばれ。要注意です。同様に、厄年の1年後は後厄とよばれ、自重するものとされています。
２．「厄年」（Unlucky Age)を英語で言ってみる❣️

Regionally and historically, there are many different ways of saying at what age a person will experience such misfortune. The most common saying is that 42 years old for men and 33 years old for women are dangerous years. The reason why these ages are considered as bad years must have come from the health conditions of men and women in the past. These two-digit numbers are also unlucky in sound: 42 can be read as Sini, the same sound as the word for death. Similarly, the number 33 is pronounced sang-zang (scattered) and means bad luck. Men and women who are going through these bad years are supposed to feast on their relatives and friends. This is to ask them to share this bad luck with everyone. They also go to shrines and temples to pray for the evacuation of evil spirits. The year before a bad year is called Mae-yaku. Be careful. Likewise, the year after a bad year is called the post-evil year, and people are supposed to be careful.
