What I Learned in the Seminar...

Hello, everyone!

It’s me again, Nisa
A university student from Indonesia who doing the internship at HaroHaro.
You can read the previous article for the reason I came to HaroHaro!

This week is the last week of my internship at HaroHaro.
Maybe I will miss the office and all the employees here when I return to my country 😥

📖 📖 📖

Let’s get back to the main topic!

In the last week of Friday, I had the opportunity to visit one of the interior product supplier showroom with my mentor,
which is SANGETSU Showroom located in Umeda, Osaka.

Before entering the main showroom,
there are three model rooms such as living room, bedroom, and toilet.

Here are the photos I took 🎵

I was impressed when I entered the main showroom because there were so many examples of wallpaper, tile, and curtains.

There were also some customers who were looking at the catalog
(probably choosing wallpaper or tile to decorate their homes, I thought).

Then, I met with the representative from SANGETSU
who will teach me about the products.

First of all, we started from the wallpaper.
Judging from the material, there are several types of wallpaper, such as made of vinyl, fabric, washi, and so on.

The vinyl ones are also divided into two types,
those that are resistant to scratches and easy to clean and those that are not.
I was told that Japanese people love cleanliness, which is why houses in Japan mostly use vinyl wallpaper because it is easy to clean.

Next is the tile.
Some made of vinyl and fabric.
There are two types, roll carpet and tile carpet.
There are also cushion floor, PVC tile, and PVC sheet.

For curtains, there are curtains in general and shade.
There are also roll screen, vertical blinds, pleated screen, etc.

Of all the interior products that I learned at SANGETSU Showroom,
the one that caught my eyes was the wallpaper made of washi
(paper made using traditional Japanese methods).

At first, I thought that wallpapers in Japan were only made of vinyl and fabric, but there are also made of Japanese paper and it’s handmade.

I became very interested and wanted to know more about Japanese paper because it is made with traditional methods and also has a long history.

From the seminar, I learned that there are various types of base materials for wallpaper and tile, also the use of wallpaper in Japanese houses is common.

In Indonesia of course, wallpaper is used,
but in most houses use wall paint.

Learning about interiors, which is not my field was fun and made me want to know more about Japanese interior and also interior of my own country.

Last, the experience was amazing!
From now on, I will keep learning and learning 🙌
