 Somehow, I think that people in Japan are not good at talking about the traditional culture of their own country.

When I told the story of waka poetry, hyakuninisshusome people read it more intently than the explanations written in Japanese.

(ちゃんとした説明をしてくれる人がいるから、私のようなちゃんとしてない者が ふわっと話すと。海外の人よりも、日本人の人の目にとまったりする。日本人の七不思議。日本語で書かれた説明より、熱心に読む人が居がち。)

君がため 惜しからざりし 命さえ

ながくもながと 思ひけるかな

【意味】

 いつ死んでもいいと思っていたこの身だけれども、いま 君と出会って すこしでも 長く この時間が(人生の時間が、いのちが ) 続けばいいなと思ってしまっているよ。

【meaning】

I thought I was ready to die, but from the day I met you, I wished my life would last longer.

【significato】

Pensavo di essere pronto a morire, ma dal giorno in cui ti ho incontrato, ho voluto continuare la mia vita più a lungo.

○この詩の作者は、藤原義孝(ふじわらのよしたか)と言います。

○The author of this poem is Fujiwara no Yoshitaka. He died at the age of 21.

○L'autore di questa poesia è Fujiwara no Yoshitaka. Morì all'età di 21 anni.
