25/07/2024 The moment I forget Japanese in UK.

How to say “How are you?” in Japanese?

British guy asked to me at the Language Exchange.

Literally it is ''Genki desuka?''

But wait,
I've not use this phrase in daily lives.

German guy  who likes study Japanese said to me,
''I heard that generally Japanese people tend to talk about 'Weather' in greeting situation. Isn't it?''

Definitely.

''Today is realy hot''
''I think so too''

Depends on who talk with and what kinds of opportunity but this conversation is more naturally than ''Genki desuka? (How are you?)'' I suppose.

It's the third month of my study abroad in UK.

It was a moment when I realized how little I knew in my native language Japanese, even though I had come all the way to the UK to acquire language skills.

(Japanese ver. 日本語バージョン)
