　やがて、お元さんと(司祭の弟子である)二人の青年は〈学生の街〉京都市へ、活動の協力者を他のルートで募るためにやって来たのでした。

 Also in the MEIJI era, many many young men concentrated in that town to admire global action.

　明治時代においても、グローバルな活動を求めて、それはそれはたくさんの若者たちが、この街に集まって来ていました。

After that restoration, they were learning some foreign languages and cultures a lot, at their schoolhouses in KYOTO city, like the guys〈LAST SAMURAI 〉once.
