「ドキドキする場所は恋に落ちやすい」は本当！？-It’s true that “it’s easy to fall in love in a place that makes your heart flutter”! ?-

皆さんこんばんわ。今回はタイトルの内容について『男と女の生態学』より一部抜粋してご紹介させていただきます。吊り橋効果などよく耳にしますが果たして本当にあるのでしょうか？ちなみに前回の記事では幸せ太りは食べ過ぎが原因ではなかった件ついてご紹介させていただきました。良ければそちらの記事も併せてご覧ください。

Everyone, good evening. This time, I would like to introduce some excerpts from ``The Ecology of Men and Women'' based on the title. We often hear about the suspension bridge effect, but is it really true? By the way, in the previous article, I introduced how happiness weight gain was not caused by overeating. ”結論から言うと確かなようです。南フロリダ大学の心理学者、ブレッド・コーエン氏は吊り橋効果を検証するべく、映画館から出てきた70組みのカップルを観察。半分のカップルはドキュメンタリー映画、もう半分はホラー系の映画を観ていました。その結果、ホラー系の映画を観たカップルの方が、楽しそうに会話をしたり、腕を組んで仲良くしたりする割合が圧倒的に高かったのだとか。”

”The conclusion seems certain. Bred Cohen, a psychologist at the University of South Florida, observed 70 couples coming out of a movie theater to test the suspension bridge effect. Half the couples watched a documentary film, and the other half watched a horror movie. As a result, couples who watched horror movies were significantly more likely to have fun conversations and to have their arms around each other.”

”もちろん恋愛感情に発展しやすいのは、吊り橋やホラー映画だけではありません。一緒にジョギングをしたり、ジェットコースターに乗ったりしても相手に好意を抱きやすくなります。つまり、男女は一緒に何かをして心拍数を上げると、生理的興奮を相手に対してのトキメキと認知してしまい、恋愛に発展しやすくなると言うわけです。”

”Of course, suspension bridges and horror movies aren't the only things that can easily lead to romantic feelings. Even if you go jogging or ride a roller coaster together, you'll be more likely to like your partner. In other words, when men and women do things together to increase their heart rate, they perceive physiological excitement as excitement for the other person, making it easier to develop a relationship.”
