[The declaration] On my birthday

Hey there. How’s it going? Gentle Gian is here.
Today is my birthday; the last year in my 40s has started.

As mentioned in my previous note, I’ve considered learning another language.

I’ve been thinking about which language to learn; I had two choices: French or Spanish.

Re: French
I’ve learned a little as a senior high and a hotel college student.
I am familiar with it.

Re: Spanish
My husband and I traveled to Spain for our honeymoon.
Before departure, we practiced asking, “Where is the restroom?” in Spanish, “¿Dónde está el servicio?”
While on board, he repeatedly muttered, “¿Dónde está el servicio?”

The time to show the results of practice has come.
When we were shopping in a department store in Madrid, he asked the clerk, “¿Dónde está el servicio?” and she explained fast-talking in Spanish where it was.
So, we couldn’t catch that.
As a result, he no longer asked in Spanish.

A few days ago, I got delightful news: Sagrada Familia is expected to be completed in 2026.

Since we talked about revisiting there after completion, I realized the time is approaching.

I’d be happy if I could understand directions to the restroom when we revisit there.
So, I decided to learn Spanish, too!

Learning Spanish is my other resolution.
I changed how I use Duolingo; I quit learning English with it and started learning Spanish today.
