観葉植物で空気をきれいにする。

空気をきれいにすることは、観葉植物が持っている多くの素晴らしい能力の1つです。今日は、観葉植物が持つ多くの能力と、それらを育て始める理由を紹介します。                                                                                                  Purifying the air is one of many splendid abilities houseplants have.  Today, I will introduce the many abilities houseplants have, and the reasons to start growing them.

Many plants clean the air, but some have a greater ability to do this. Sansevieria plants are particularly good at cleaning the air, and this is the plant I will feature today.                                                                                  多くの植物は空気をきれいにしますが、いくつかはこれを行うためのより優れた能力を持っています。 サンセベリアの植物は特に空気をきれいにするのが得意です、これは私が今日特集する植物です。

Sansevieria plants are also one of my favourite houseplants which I am growing at home, because of their sharp appearance and quick growth.  サンセベリアの植物は、その鋭い外観と急速な成長のために、私が家で育てている私のお気に入りの観葉植物の1つでもあります。

These plants will enliven any room it is placed in with its vivid colours and energetic appearance.                                                                             これらの植物は、その鮮やかな色とエネルギッシュな外観で、それが置かれている部屋を活気づけます。

In the winter time, they should be watered about once every week. While in the summer months, they may require three-four waterings per week. However, it is always more important to decide when to water a plant by judging the situation.                                                                                      冬の間は、週に1回程度水をやる必要があります。 夏の間は、週に3〜4回の水やりが必要になる場合があります。 しかし、状況を判断して、いつ植物に水をやるかを決めることが常により重要です。

If the surface of the around the base of the plant looks to be dry and small cracks begin to appear, then it should definitely be watered. But, after a while, one will be able to judge when to water a plant by feeling. 植物の根元の周りの表面が乾燥しているように見え、小さな亀裂が現れ始めたら、それは間違いなく水をまく必要があります。 しかし、しばらくすると、いつ植物に水をやるのかを感じて判断できるようになります。

Plants create the air people need to breathe, which is why I think having those plants indoors would make the quality of the air better.                 植物は人々が呼吸するのに必要な空気を作り出すので、それらの植物を屋内に置くことで空気の質が良くなると思います。

Why might Sansevierias in particular be a good choice for someone looking for a plant?                                                                                         植物を探している人にとって、特にサンセビリアが良い選択であるのはなぜですか？

Sansevierias are easy to care for, they always have leaves and those leaves live for years if maintained well.                                                        サンセビリアは手入れが簡単で、常に葉があり、よく維持されていればそれらの葉は何年も生きます。

Another great point is that sansevierias is that they grow new sprouts which becomes a completely independent plant if separated.                  My sansevieria plant grew so many sprouts in four years that my pair of small plants now became about 25 new plants (the tallest ones are about 90cm in height).                                                                                               もう一つの素晴らしい点は、サンセビリアは新しい芽を育て、分離すると完全に独立した植物になるということです。                                                     私のサンセベリア植物は4年間で非常に多くの芽を育てたので、私の小さな植物のペアは現在約25の新しい植物になりました（最も高いものは高さ約90cmです）。

Even without going searching for plants, there is a way to begin growing plants now.                                                                                                       植物を探しに行かなくても、今から植物を育て始める方法があります。

Just like this, an Avocado can be grown in a cup full of water.                  このように、アボカドは水で満たされたカップで育てることができます。

Just exchange the old water with new room temperature water everyday. Once it grows large enough (when leaves begin to appear) you can plant it just like any other small plant.                                                                    毎日、古い水を新しい室温の水と交換するだけです。 それが十分に大きくなったら（葉が現れ始めたとき）、他の小さな植物と同じように植えることができます。

I am enjoying watching the surprisingly rapid growth of these plants.     私はこれらの植物の驚くほど急速な成長を見ることを楽しんでいます。
