サンセビリアは長い葉と深い緑の色合いでよく知られており、手入れのしやすさからも人気がありますが、知られていない面もあります。 サンセビエリアスの花が開き、白い花の周りの深い緑の葉の前で特に素晴らしい花火のような花が咲きます。                                                                          Sansevieria are well-known for their long leaves and the deep green hue and the ease of caring for them has made them quite popular too, but there is a side that may not be known.                                               Sansevierias flowers open showing firework-like blooms which look especially magnificent in front of the deep green leaves behind the white flowers.

What is a sansevieria?                                                                                     サンセベリアとは？

The name sansevieria is a name used to describe many plants of a similar group, although often there will be the specific scientific name written as well.
The sansevieria group is part of a larger group of plants called "Agave" and this seems to be the ingredient used in making a liquor called tequila.                                                                                                                サンセベリアという名前は、同様のグループの多くの植物を表すために使用される名前ですが、特定の学名も書かれていることがよくあります。         サンセビリアグループは「リュウゼツラン」と呼ばれる植物のより大きなグループの一部であり、これはテキーラと呼ばれる酒を作るのに使用されるもののようです。

The encounter with sansevierias began by chance.                                 Four years ago, as I was looking for a good plant that I could grow inside the house the deep green colour and the glossy leaves of a certain plant caught my eye, and the name of that plant that I held in my hand was sansevieria.                                                                                               私のサンセビリアとの出会いは偶然に始まりました。 4年前、家の中で育てる良い植物を探していたところ、ある植物の深緑色と光沢のある葉が目に留まり、手に持ったその植物の名前はサンセビリアでした。

At the time, I did not know what kind of plant sansevieria was, but now I have taken a liking to the characteristics of this plant.
Sansevierias are always green and they look lively even in the winter months and the leaves continue to grow throughout the year.                  当時はサンセベリアがどんな植物なのかわかりませんでしたが、今ではこの植物の特徴が好きになりました。 サンセビリアは常に緑で、冬でも元気に見え、一年中葉が生え続けます。

The sansevieria grow like to bulb plants.
And just like bulb plants, sansevierias grow new bulbs which later on grow into independent plants of their own, so one might become three after one year.                                                                                                 サンセベリアは球根植物のように成長します。 そして、球根植物と同じように、サンセビリアは新しい球根を育て、後にそれは独自の独立した植物に成長するので、1年後には3つになるかもしれません。

The three sansevierias I began growing four years ago have grown well and now they have become more than 25.
Since there are so many, I repotted a few to secure enough space for each.                                                                                                                 私が4年前に育て始めた3つのサンセビリアは順調に成長し、今では25以上になっています。 たくさんあるので、それぞれに十分なスペースを確保するために、私はいくつかを植え替えました。

And just today, for the first time the sansevieria buds flowered.
And this was the first time I have ever seen a sansevieria bloom in person, it was a splendid sight.                                                                        そしてちょうど今日、初めてサンセビリアのつぼみが開花しました。 そして、サンセビリアが直接咲くのを見たのはこれが初めてで、素晴らしい光景でした。
