TEDから学ぶ英語プレゼン(11) “Keep your goals to yourself ”日本語解説①
さて、先日ご紹介したTEDsterのDerek Siversさんのショートスピーチ。本当に英語がわかりやすいですよね。簡単な言葉を綺麗に発音してくれてるんで、すごいいい教材ですね❣️
まずは英語全文、動画を掲載した前回の記事を紹介しますね。

それでは、スピーチの前半を解説します。
もちろん解説は、SUCCESSにそって進めます。SUCCESSはプレゼンに必要な各要素ですよね。知らない方のために、サクッと書いておきますね。
S Simple (単純明快）
U Unique （ユニーク）
C Concrete （具体的）
C Credible （信頼性）
E Emotional （感情的）
S Story （ストーリー性）
まずは冒頭部分です。
Everyone please think of your biggest personal goal. Okay, for real, he can take a second, you got to feel this to learn it, a few seconds and think of your personal biggest goal. Okay.
冒頭の掴みとしてはやや平凡ですが、あなたの一番大きな夢を考えてみて下さい、という呼びかけは単純simpleであり、且つ、感情emotionに訴る定番ですね。
Imagine deciding right now that you're going to do it. Imagine telling someone that you meet today what you're going to do. Imagine their congratulations and their high image of you. Doesn't it feel good to say it out loud. Don't you feel one step closer already like it's already becoming part of your identity.
この段落では、imagineの使い方に注目ですね。3度使うことにより、上手く引き込んでいますよね。3回同じフレーズ「想像してみて下さい、、、」を用いて呼びかけ、頭の中に明確にその状況を作り出すことを試みていますね。
Well, bad news. You should have kept your mouth shut because that good feeling now will make you less likely to do it, the repeated psychology tests have proven that telling someone your goal, makes it less likely to happen anytime you have a goal, there's some steps that need to be done some work that needs to be done in order to achieve it.
Ideally you would not be satisfied until you'd actually done the work, but when you tell someone your goal and they acknowledge it.
いよいよ主題に入ります。もうめちゃくちゃシンプル。冒頭の一文が全てですね!

この一文で全てを説明しています。Simple (単純明快）であり、Unique （ユニーク）ですね。目標は口に出してコミットするんだ、が通常の目標管理の定番理論？ですので、とってもユニークですよね^_^
