　私の脳内では、24時間「今日もどこかでデビルマン」のメロディが流れている。
　他人に出会うたびに、思わず自分の素性を語りたくなる瞬間がある。

　人と出会い、話す機会もあるが、本名を明かすことはできない。戸籍もデタラメである。親戚や親とも、この職業を選んだ以上、もはや会うことはないだろう。本当に誰にも何も自分自身のことは語れないのだ。

　しかし、人間というものは、秘密をずっと心の中にとどめておくことはできないものである。今日は特別に私について赤裸々に語ってみよう。とは言っても、「ありのまま語る」のではない。虚構を所々に交える。そうでもしないと生きてゆけないからだ。
　これから私が話すことは、聞き終わったらすぐに忘れてくださいね。もちろん、多くの嘘が紛れているわけだが。

　もったいぶらずにそろそろ私について語ろう。
　私は狙撃訓練を受けた日本人スパイだ。実際は違うのだが、わかりやすく言えば、ゴルゴ13。とりあえず、女ゴルゴだと思っていただいて差しつかえない。

　私は「スパイ」。一応身分上は国家公務員だ。
　しかし、一般の人々が「スパイ」という言葉からイメージする仕事とは大きく異なる。

　ターゲットの某国に潜り込み、諜報活動を行うわけだが、国家の中枢機関に潜り込むことはまれだ。人脈を作る前に私たちスパイが行うことは、実に地味な作業である。

　某国に潜入しても遜色のない語学運用能力を身につけたあとにすること。これもまた、一般人は意外に思うかもしれないが、現地の新聞を徹底的に読み込むこと。そして、大切な記事はスクラップしていくこと。

「ネットがある時代になんと原始的な！」と思われるかもしれない。しかし、大切なことはすべて公式見解に現れるものだ。公式見解というものを分析するだけでかなりの情報を得ることができる。丁寧に読むと、矛盾が必ずある。政府が隠していることが手に取るようにわかるようになる。

　次に私たちスパイがおこなうこと。それは、ターゲット国の古典的名著を徹底的に読み込むこと。

「今現在の某国のことをスパイするのに、古典なんか読んでどうする？」と素人は言うかもしれない。しかし、現在の有り様を深く探るために、その国の人々の心の底に横たわる「思想・考え方」は古典を読めばよくわかる。

　私は日本人だが、日本をスパイしようとする某国人は、「古事記」「日本書紀」を徹底的に読み込むことだろう。

　「ナンパ」と「逆ナン」。男から女に声をかけるのが「ナンパ」で、その逆が「逆ナン」というが、こういう言葉の使い方は、イザナミとイザナギを知っていれば、容易に理解できる。

　こういう地道な作業の積み重ねが、私たちスパイの主な業務である。
