サンタクロースとのファーストコンタクトから年月が経ち、私は小学校高学年になっていた。

いつもと同じクリスマスの時期を迎えたが、ある時、問題が起こった。母が血相を変え「ツリーがない！ツリーがない！」と叫んでいた。私は慌てた母の様子を見ていたが、母がさらに早口で「おばあちゃんが捨てたって！ツリー捨てたって！」と。
