In this article, I will talk about WHY I CHOSE TO LEARN ENGLISH.

Learning English may improve my son's abilities and talents.

My son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder/ADHD when he was 6 years old. My wife and I were so shocked. This news made her cry. However, my wife remained positive. She immediately consulted with professionals and researched many books on developmental disorders and tried to apply them. I didn't know anything about developmental disorders, so I learned a lot from my wife, who was studying earlier than I did.

My wife and I have read many books about developmental disorders. Because we thought that if we could find out the cause, we could take measures in advance. However, the cause is not clear except that a part of the brain is not functioning normally, and no effective treatment method has been established up to this day.

One day, I learned from a book that English learning and working memory are closely related. Working memory was a term I often heard when I was researching developmental disorders. I thought that learning English might be able to improve my son's characteristics of developmental disorders, so I decided to grasp at straws and give it a try.
