A Realist Guide on COVID-19

You'll understand COVID-19 better, if at least you were thinking like a realist.

Being realistic, means to view the world as it really is, rather than it's pictured to be, nor how you want it to be.

Firstly, you will never underestimate COVID-19 and its rampant spread.

God knows how bad China's population density is, for its millions of population increase since 2000s. For the time being, at least 2 billion fellows will always be busy fending off the naughty virus. Not to say, COVID-19 barely bares its fangs in Europe, India and Africa.

Secondly, self-security is realists top priority. They will calmly analyze their surroundings and seek ways to secure their ass. If Europe and Southeast Asian countries were on their guard, I wouldn't be wasting my time inventing meme of Boris Johnson, the same man who shutted London, right after boasting London readiness to host 2020 Olympics. Heck, making hilarious jokes about Jakarta wouldn't have been such fantastic thing to do.

Thirdly, if you were a realist, you won't be hoarding groceries. Realists only secure their ass in delicate balance to threats. They'll only buy appropriate amounts of rice, masks and toilet papers. Realists understand that they need other people to be healthy as well, and for people to neatly wipe their ass.

What's more, while the number of infections are soaring, the media is just too lazy to tell us the significant number of recovered masses. Hence, the outbreak will eventually be settled down, so there's no need to wet your pants, or panic-buying.

Fourthly, if you think realistically, you should be staying your ass home, preventing further spread of COVID-19. By now, you should already know that the virus lurks in sapiens body for up to 20-30 days, even after the symptoms are recovered. So stay your ass home or limit contacts with other people, whether you are a youngster, a spoiled brat, or a son of Neptune.

Lastly, (for God's sake, finally...) realists will never discriminate or blame the race of the infected, because they've got a good grasp of facts, history & geography. The emergence of unknown diseases is just a matter of time followed with bad fortune of environment. Historically, we have seen deadly diseases emerged from many corners of the world. The Spanish Flu, which resulted in deaths many times than those caused by WW1, was originated either from Kansas, France, China or even the Kingdom of Arandelle. Likewise, we have seen the MERS from the Middle East, Ebola, or the Dengue fever. So, why don't we suppress the hate towards Chinese or Asians?

Globalization has enhanced sapiens and animals movement, naturally exposing us to unknown diseases. While COVID-19 first outbreak was in China, it's never wise to call it "Chinese Virus". It's biologically evident that any sapiens may contract and transmit the virus.

Being realistic doesn't mean to be trembled in fear, but to take a clear view of the situation. Then, you'll be able to response with a degree of prudence. Notably, you'll be less likely to offend other people.
