【イギリス留学#32】脱日本
留学の投稿が30本を越えたので、イギリスに1ヶ月滞在したことになります。長いようなあっという間のような時間でした。今日からまた授業が始まるので、頑張っていきます。
ちなみに今日のカバー画像(サムネイル)は、なぜか空が黄色くなっていたので撮った写真です。

日本に触れる機会を少なくする
僕はお笑いが好きなのですが#24にも書いたように、お笑いが国境を越えるのは非常に難しいので、海外で日本のお笑いを見るにはYouTubeしか手段がありません。なので暇な時はずっとお笑いのYouTubeを見ています。
しかし、これからお笑いなどの日本語のエンタメを見る時間を減らしていこうかなと考えています。「1ヶ月もイギリスにいて今更かよ！」とは言わないでください。理由は2つあります。
①ヨーロッパ旅行
体調も回復してきて、そろそろヨーロッパ旅行に行きたいと考えているので、最近はヨーロッパ旅行のYouTubeの動画をよく見ています。すると海外の方が旅行している動画も結構お勧めに流れてくるようになりました。
もちろん全て英語なのですが、そういった動画も字幕を付ければある程度理解できることに気づきました。語学力の向上にも活かせそうなので、しばらくはそういった海外のYouTuberの動画を見たいと思います。
②キングオブコント
10月21日のお笑いの日の中でキングオブコントがあったと思いますが、その優勝者のネタバレを防ぎたいと思っています。最近は流れてくるニュースなどもイギリス対応していて、日本のニュースをあまり見ていません。
だからYouTubeのお勧めにさえ出てこなければネタバレを防げると思っています。日本に帰ってきたときの楽しみを取っておくために、優勝者を知らずに過ごしたいと思います。
今はイギリスにいるので現地の文化に触れる時間を増やしたいのと、日本に帰った時の感動を大きくしたいと考えています。単純に日本でかなり話題のことでもイギリスでは全く話題ではないのが面白いなと思います。
あと今定期的に連絡を取っている人はいないので大丈夫だと思いますが、キングオブコントのネタバレだけはしないようによろしくお願いします。自分の中で日本に帰った時の一番の楽しみはお笑いを見ることになりそうです。
おわりに
今日も授業があったのですが、英語日記を長めに書きすぎてしまったため、授業の内容は書かないでおきます。明日の投稿に今日の授業の内容も含めて書いていこうかなと思っています。

英語日記
英語力向上のために留学期間中は英語日記を書いています。英語で話した内容などを書くことが多いです。まだまだ英語力が乏しいですが、暖かい目で読んでください。※Chat-GPTで修正はしています。
Today is Monday, which means there was a Global Cafe event. I had conversations with various people.
I talked to some Indian people. When I mentioned that I attend this event every week, one of them asked me, "How many friends do you have in this place?" I replied, "I have made some Japanese friends." But he said, "This event has a lot of people from various countries, so you should talk to various people!" He is correct in what he says. I want to interact with people from different countries.
A man from Singapore sat down next to me. I mentioned, "A famous Japanese YouTuber and comedian lives in Singapore. He often praises the quality of education in Singapore." In response, he shared some insights about education in Singapore, saying, "In Singapore, income varies significantly based on your academic performance, which motivates everyone to study hard. However, school expenses are exceedingly high."
I was curious about the class format in Singapore schools, but I didn't get a chance to inquire. Next time, I plan to ask, "What is the class format like in Singapore schools? In Japan, most classes are conducted in a lecture format."
Also, He asked me about the differences between Japan and the UK. I responded, "The biggest difference is the food. In Japan, each place has its own specialties, But the UK is known for its fish and chips, with fewer local specialties." My Japanese friend added, "Japan has very strict laws, resulting in clean roads and limited smoking areas. In contrast, the UK has dirtier roads, and it's common to see people smoking while walking."
And, I asked him, "What are the differences between the UK and Japan?" He replied, "Of course, the food is different between Asia and Europe. Additionally, in Asia, there is a sense of hierarchy, and people often strive to progress together. In contrast, Europeans are more like individuals pursuing their own dreams." He explained the cultural differences between the two nationalities.
