Boar's charge

see that field-boar wreathed in pied-ghost's linen
and silk-wrapped, boggy was his breath.
seedy and green crowned was his head,
muddy-hooved, and rosen-hearted.
afar he went, charging headlong towards
the precipitous slope, upwards drawing
shouting in wonderment, traversing in zig-zag
of this new Thing to him, death,
alike its inverse to a wonder-child.
rumbling the ground as he went and left many
joyful tears, Oh my men---
that was a good King!
