実験的格言 XXI 懐を押す石 Experimental Aphorism XXI Kaiseki (the stone oppressing your stomach)

Coarse food and simple drinks do refresh one's spirit once in a while;
enjoying it too much though, there will be no difference from sinful overindulgence.
There is essentially no difference between a regime of eating meat and drinking alcohol and one that does not.
Only how vile is your intention in it.
Monks beware.
Gluttony.
There is also intention to kill hidden in the stomach-oppressing stone. 

粗朴な食べ物と単調な飲み物は時折、人の心をさわやかにする。
しかし、それをあまりにも楽しむと、度を越えた罪過と変わりません。
肉を食べ、酒を飲む生活とそうでない生活に本質的な違いはありません。ただ、それを行う意図がどれほど邪悪かが異なるのです。
僧侶は気をつけよう。
貪食に。
懐石の中にも殺生の念が隠されてます。
