2024年度京都文学レジデンシー公募開始！Apply for Kyoto Writers Residency 2024!

京都文学レジデンシー

京都文学レジデンシーでは、異なる文化に触れることで新しい文学表現を生み出そうとする国内外の小説家や詩人など創作作家や翻訳家を支援するレジデンスプログラムを2022年から実施しています。

2024 schedule:

  • Application Deadline: 23:59 (Japan Time), 31 March 2024

  • Results Expected: The end of May 2024

  • Residency Period: 28 September ~ 27 October, 2024

  • 応募締切: 2024年3月31日23:59（日本時間）

  • 結果通知予定：5月末

  • レジデンシー期間：2024年9月28日〜10月27日

Kyoto Writers Residency is now accepting applications for the 2024 October residency (28 Sep ~ 27 Oct, 2024). We will offer full fellowship for one author in the Japanese language and a few author(s) in non-Japanese language(s). (French Belgium authors must apply through WBI.)

Our fellowship will include (1) a round-trip ticket from your airport to Kansai International Airport; (2) a fully equipped room in the city of Kyoto; (3) access to a workspace; (4) per diem of ¥5000/day.

京都文学レジデンシー実行委員会は2024年度レジデンシー（9月28日〜10月27日）に参加する日本語作家1名を公募します。応募締切は3月31日23:59です。海外の作家との交流に積極的に取り組んでみたい方、自作が諸外国語に翻訳される可能性を探りたい方、今後も海外の文学祭や文学レジデンシーに積極的に応募するために経験を積みたい方は、ぜひ応募をご検討ください。過去の参加者については、本ウェブサイトやnoteの該当記事をご参照ください。参加者には（１）居住地から京都の往復旅費、（２）一人部屋の滞在場所、（３）ワークスペースへのアクセス、（４）日当￥5000が支給されます。

Eligibility:

  • Fiction writers and/or poets of any language(s) with at least one full-length book publication are eligible. (Nonfiction-only writers are NOT eligible.)

  • The applicants must be able to participate in the residency and its official events in full.

  • We encourage the applicants to provide proposals for outreach events other than the two official events.

Application and Fee:

  • 2,000JPY entry fee paid through Shopify. <https://c3a3e0-4.myshopify.com/>

  • Online entry form with the payment number.

  • (1) BIO（No more than 1 page in A4/Letter size, in English or Japanese）

  • (2) Description of yourself and your current project (No more than 1 page, in English or Japanese）

  • (3) Sample work（No more than 30 pages of fiction in A4/Letter size OR between 5 to 10 pieces of poetry.）

  • (4) An English or Japanese translation of the above sample work, which anyone may translate. This is unnecessary if your writing language is either Japanese or English.

  • Please e-mail the above 4 materials (in .pdf, .doc, or .dox format(s)) to kyotowritersresidency@gmail.com. Your e-mail’s subject title has to be “2024 Kyoto Writers Residency Application”.

応募資格：

  • 少なくとも単著1冊出版歴のある小説家もしくは詩人　(ノンフィクションのみの作家は応募できません)

  • レジデンシー期間に京都に滞在が可能で、オフィシャルイベントに参加できること。

  • 上記のオフィシャルイベント（ふたつを予定）以外に、アウトリーチイベントなどの提案も歓迎します

応募書類と費用：

  • Shopify <https://c3a3e0-4.myshopify.com/> より応募料¥2000を支払い

  • オンラインフォーム入力（支払番号を記載のこと）

  • 略歴（A4版1枚以内。日本語もしくは英語）

  • 自己紹介と現在のプロジェクト（A4版1枚以内。日本語もしくは英語）

  • 作品サンプル（A4版30ページ以内、もしくは詩は5~10作品）

  • 以上3点を.pdf, .docまたは .doxフォーマットにて、kyotowritersresidency<at>gmail.com にメール添付として送ってください。メールの件名は「2024京都文学レジデンシー応募書類」としてください。
