一昨年惜しくも逝去した鬼才トーマススタンコの11年前の作品である。小生は本作を高く評価している。とりわけ③の後半におけるスタンコのプレイは凄まじい。マイルスを含め過去の全ての奏者が残してきたトランペット音を凌駕するかの迫真の音塊だと思う。バッキングも前作までのバンドを超える力量だ。2009年録音作品。☆☆☆☆☆ (2020年記す) 『Tomasz Stanko / Dark Eyes』

This is a work from 11 years ago by the genius Tomasz Stanko, who sadly passed away two years ago. I highly praise this work. Stanko's playing in the second half of ③ is particularly amazing. I think it is a convincing sound mass that surpasses the trumpet sounds of all past players, including Miles. The backing is also of a caliber that exceeds that of the bands up to the previous work. Recorded in 2009. ☆☆☆☆☆ (Written in 2020)
