ホログラム制作ノート⑤ どうやったら私ときみが同じ場所にいるのが伝わるのだろう
たくさんの想いを書いてきたけれど、
結局のところ、もしきみがホログラムをみて
「ふーん、まぁやりたいことはわかるけどさぁ」
って感じてしまうのだったら、とても悲しい。
実際問題、私はその場所にいないわけだけれど、
それでも私がそこにいるって感じてほしいんだ。
きみの目の前に。
そのためには、ホログラムに映る映像に工夫が必要になる。
もしそこに「私ときみは違う場所にいる」とわかるものがあるのだったら、
そんなものは、なくしてしまわなくてはならない。
例えば、後ろに映り込むカメラ、客席、照明。
それから忘れてはいけないのが床の存在。
（本当は黒い床の場所で撮影すればよかったのだけど、
撮影してみるまで、こんな大変なことになるとは誰も気づかなかった。）
私が踊り、蝶の羽がひらひらと舞うたびに、
照明が生み出す影が変化してゆく。床の色が刻一刻と変わってゆく。
Adobe After Effectsで消すにしても、
たとえば大きな黒い四角で隠したら、足も衣装もすべてが消えてしまう。
色を厳密に指定して、それを黒に変化させたとしよう。
すると、床の木の色に近い私の肌までも黒くなってしまう。
どうしようもなくて、映像の上に映像を重ねてみた。
下半分は色指定したものを黒に変化させ、床を消した映像。
上半分は、元々の映像。
うーん、どうしても境目がでてしまう。そんなのは興醒めだ。
何度も違うやり方を試してから、
最後にたどり着いたのは、変化する場所を元から下部分のみに指定する方法。
映像を丸く切り取るツールを利用して、映像内に楕円を作る。
そして、その中だけ色調を変えるんだ。
とはいえ、床の色は場所によって微妙に違うため、数十の円を作ることになる。
変えたい色味にあわせ楕円ごとにの大きさを変えてゆくと、
楕円の外にある身体上部への影響は最小限になった。
これならなんとか、きみに届けられそうだ。

How can I tell you that you and I are in the same place?
Although I wrote many reasons about my hologram, if you think
“Hmm, I understand what you want to say but that is just your ideal. Because this is …” when you watch the hologram in actuality, I might be so sad.
Fact is I am not there.
But I hope you can feel I am there, in front of you.
For that, I have to shape the hologram video.
If there are some extra things inside the video, let’s erase those.
Those are “I am not there” things like ;
The cameras behind me at the opposite side,
The seats in the studio,
The lighting equipment,
And I should not forget this, the floor.
(Actually, we should take the video at the place with black floor. But everyone didn’t notice that until we took the video!!)
Every time I danced, and my butterfly wings danced too.
And the shadow by lighting equipment was changing. The color of the floor was changing too.
If I erase it using big black square by Adobe After Effects, not only the floor but also my legs and costume will be gone.
If I pick up one particular color and change it to black, not only the floor but also my skin will be black.
So, I tried to superimpose same movie on the changed movie.
It means
Lower half: the color of floor is black. And my skin also black
Upper half: the original movie. My skin is still my color.
Hmm you will be able to recognize the border. This is not interesting!
After many trials, finally I found.
I specified the place to change only in the lower part from the beginning.
First, I made the ellipse in lower area of the video by using the tool which cuts the movie in a circle.
Second, I changed the color only inside of the ellipse.
Of course, the floor has so many kinds of brown color by lighting.
So, I made dozens of ellipses.
Because I changed the size of each ellipse along the color what I wanted to change,
The effect on the upper part outside of the ellipses was minimized.
Finally, I could feel I can be with you by hologram.
