こんばんは。
これは2日前の11日に書いたものです。
読み上げます。
2023年10月11日、ガザというタイトルです。

私の心は重い。
怒りと悲しみでいっぱいだ。
はっきりと言いたいことがある。
私はこの警鐘を20年近く叩き続けてきた。
私のメッセージはシンプルだ。
この何年もの間、私たちはまるで、兄弟姉妹に平等な人権を求める母なる自然の声に耳を傾けていないかのように感じてきた。
平等な人権は戦争に対する唯一の解毒剤である。

先週の土曜日、私たちは戦争犯罪の申し立てに耳を傾けた。
私は彼らを全面的に非難する。

私にはパレスチナ人の友人、ロマ・アルジェリアがいる。
彼女はベイルートに住んでいる。
彼女は真夜中に私にメールをくれた。2歳のいとこを含む彼女の家族11人が、日曜日の夜、ガザで暗闇の中に座っていたとき、イスラエル軍の爆撃によって殺された、と。

ナオミ・クラインは昨日の『ガーディアン』紙の記事で、このままではいけないと述べている。
私はナオミ・クラインに同意する。
どうすべきか、私の提案はこうだ。
あくまでも意見だ。
こうすべきだ。

ひとつ：
即時かつ恒久的に停戦すること。
誰も殺してはならない。
ハマスもイスラエル国防軍も含めて。

では、次は？
将来の流血をどう防ぐか。

二つ：
大きなテーブルを囲み、この不浄な混乱に対する一国家による解決策の骨子を打ち出す。
国際法の下での平等な人権の尊重に基づくものだ。
民族や宗教、以前の国籍に関係なく、すべての国民に人権を与える新しい国家。
この新しい国家は、イタリック体で書いたが、実際の真の民主主義国家となるだろう。

三つ:
私が思うに、新国家憲法には、アパルトヘイト後の南アフリカのように、真相究明と和解のための公聴会の規定が必要なのではないだろうか。

四つ：
副次的な問題
明らかにゴラン高原はこの件には関係ない。
ゴラン高原はシリアに属している。

それが夢なのだ。
私の心はまだ重い。
イスラム教徒、キリスト教徒、ユダヤ教徒、ドゥルーズ派、不可知論者、無神論者を問わず、聖地にいるすべての兄弟姉妹のために泣いている。
私たちは皆、戦争のない世界を共に待ち望むことができるだろうか？
私たちは普遍的人権を信じているのだろうか、それとも信じていないのだろうか？
すべての男女が法の下に平等である世界を夢見ているのか、いないのか。

1914年から1944年まで、私の父はそれを夢を見た。
父はその夢を守るため、イタリアでナチスと戦って死んだ。
私もその夢を見る。
「もし」も、「そして」も、「しかし」もない。
私もその夢を見る。

Good evening.
This is what I wrote two days ago on the 11th.
I’m going to read it out to you.
It’s just called Gaza, 11th of October 2023.
My heart is heavy.
I’m angry and sad.
I have things to say.
I’ve been banging this drum for nearly 20 years.
My message is simple.
All these years it’s felt to me almost as if we’re deaf to Mother Nature’s calls for equal human rights for our brothers and sisters.
Equal human rights being the only antidote to war.
Last Saturday, we listened to allegations of war crimes.
I condemn them unreservedly.
I have a Palestinian friend, Loma Algeria.
She lives in Beirut.
She texted me in the middle of the night to tell me that 11 members of her family, including a two year old cousin, were killed by Israeli bombing as they sat in the dark in Gaza on Sunday night.
Naomi Klein, in an article in The Guardian yesterday said this can not be allowed to go on.
I agree with Naomi Klein.
Here’s my suggestion of what should be done.
It’s only an opinion.
This is what should be done.
ONE:
There must be an immediate and permanent ceasefire.
No killing by anyone.
Hamas and IDF included.
So what next?
How to prevent future bloodshed.
TWO:
Get round a big table and hammer out the bones of a one state solution to this whole unholy mess.
One based on respect for equal human rights under international law.
A new state with human rights for all citizens irrespective of their ethnicity or religion or previous nationality.
This new state would be, and I’ve written this in Italics, an actual real democracy.
THREE:
My suspicion is that the new state’s Constitution would need to include provision for truth and reconciliation hearing like they had in post apartheid South Africa.
FOUR:
a side issue.
Obviously the Goran Heights are not part of any of this.
They are part of Syria where they belong.
So that is the dream.
My heart is still heavy.
I weep for all my brothers and sisters in the Holy Land Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Druze, agnostic and atheist alike.
Can we all look forward all together to a world without war?
Do we believe in universal human rights or not?
Do we dream of a world where all men and women are equal under the law or not?
My father, 1914 to 1944, dream that dream.
He died in Italy fighting the Nazis to defend that dream.
I dream that dream, too.
No ifs, no ands, no buts.
I dream that dream too.
So.
To whom it may concern.
Please stop.
