今日は、ピアノ初心者の方、ピアニストの方、両方に通じるお話をしてみます。

ピアノを弾く皆さん、音色にこだわりはありますか。

YouTubeやInstagram、TikTokなどを見ていると「弾いてみた」「歌ってみた」という動画であふれています。

もちろん、何事にもチャレンジする意味では素晴らしいのですが、果たして芸術価値のあるものはどれほどなのでしょうか。

ここで、音色のこだわりという視点から「ピアノを弾く」「ピアノを奏でる」ことについて考えてみましょう。

個人的には、電子ピアノと木製ピアノは全く別物だと思っています。

「電子ピアノでもコンクール優勝はできる」という声も聞こえますが、クラシック音楽ではなかなか厳しいものがあると感じています。

というのも、電子ピアノでの演奏は、音の深みに限界が感じられるからです。

空間や環境から返ってくる「音響」もマスターする必要があるのは、木造ピアノの難しさであり魅力と言えるでしょう。

いくら指が速く動かせる人でも、音を「奏で」られているとは限らないのです。

例えば、プロのピアニストの演奏会へ行っても、なんだか心に残らない演奏だなと印象を受けたことはないでしょうか。

反対に、アマチュアや初心者の演奏でも、感動したり応援したくなったりした体験もあるのではないでしょうか。

「映える (ばえる)」のが重視されがちな時代であっても、見る角度によって評価されるものが違うというのは、常に心しておきたいものです。

For those of you who play the piano, do you have a particular tone in mind? If you look at YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc., you will see videos of "I tried playing it" and "I tried singing it. Of course, they are great in the sense that they challenge everything, but how many of them really have artistic value?
Let's now think about "playing the piano" or " performing the piano" from the perspective of attention to tone.
Personally, I believe that electronic pianos and wooden pianos are completely different things. I have heard some people say, "You can win competitions with an electronic piano," but I feel that it is quite difficult in classical music. However, in classical music, I feel that it is very difficult to win competitions with an electronic piano because I think that there are limits to the depth of sound when playing on an electronic piano. It can be said that the difficulty and appeal of wooden pianos is that you also need to master the "acoustics" that come back from the space and environment.
No matter how fast you can move your fingers, it doesn't necessarily mean that you can "play" the sound. For example, have you ever been to a concert by a professional pianist and had the impression that the performance was not memorable? On the other hand, have you ever been moved by the performance of an amateur or beginner pianist and felt like cheering them on?
Even though we live in an age where the emphasis is often placed on "appearances," it is always important to keep in mind that what is appreciated differs depending on the angle of view.
