Chongqing trip 2024 Day1

Hello everyone! Long time no see!  I'm Mochi!
 I have always wanted to write my blog in English, which is why I tried writing in English this time. Although there are many unnatural expressions, I tried my best!

I went to Chongqing(重庆/重慶) with my friends in the end of March.
Chongqing is located in the Southeast of China and one of the biggest cities of China. It took about two and a half hours by plane from Shanghai.

We arrived at Chongqing Jiangbei International airport!

I thought Chongqing was still cold in March, but it was around 25 degrees every day! Temperature difference between day and night was huge, so if you travel in Chongqing, it's better to check the weather forecast beforehand!!

First, we went to get some drinks. This beverage store is called CHA FORU (星卡里) and opened by Chinese actor, 王俊凯 and his family. There were lots of his fans there!

This is the most iconic drink called KARRYCHA!
I didn't have idea what taste this was, but it was good! 

After that, we went to eat Chongqing hotpot! Chongqing is famous for its hotpot. Chongqing's spicy level is very different from other places! 
There were many hotpot restaurants in Chongqing, wherever I walked, I could see hotpot restaurants! 

This is one of the popular hotpot restaurants in Chongqing!

We could choose soup's taste. We chose spicy and tomato.
Spicy soups also have many spicy levels. Of course, we chose least spicy one!

Left one is spicy soup, right one is tomato soup!
They use lots of oil in the spicy soup! That white heart is also oil.

We ordered the two people hotpot set! It was enough for three of us. 

Taste was so good!

After eating a hotpot, we walked around downtown and went to Monument to the people's Liberation(抗战胜利纪功碑暨人民解放纪念碑).
This monument was built in 1947 for commemorating war of resistance against Japan.

Now, this monument became a sightseeing.

There are many slopes in Chongqing! Although we didn't walk long distances, we were so exhausted. That's why I strongly recommend wearing running shoes!! When we were tired, we rested and ate Chinese sweets.

This is one of the most popular Chinese sweets shops in Chongqing!

This restaurant has puddings, shave ice, rice cake and so on!
We chose shave ice and Chinese jelly! This jelly is called peach gum (桃胶)!
This is a sugar which is extracted from peach trees! it is also used in Oriental medicine!

Chinese sweets' taste is light! So, we can eat them after meal!
