Life Planner
Several weeks ago I got to know a salesperson from an insurance company at a social networking event that took place in Osaka.
(数週間前、大阪で開催された交流会で、保険会社の営業担当者と知り合いました)
Her name is Yuko Hamawaki and yesterday I had an opportunity to meet with her in person and learn about her company and what her role is there.
(彼女の名前は濱脇優子さんで、昨日直接会って、会社や濱脇さんの役割について学ぶ機会がありました)
At first, she explained about when and where her company originally started and how the company has grown to where it is over the years, and then she talked about what it's currently doing and what differentiates her company from other insurance companies out there.
(まず、会社の起源や成長過程、そして会社が年月を重ねてどのようにして今の地位に到達したかについて説明され、その後は現在その会社が何をしているか、そして、他の保険会社と異なる点についてお話がありました)
Her presentation was about 90 minutes long, but I didn't feel it was long or boring at all.
(濱脇さんのプレゼンは約90分間でしたが、長いとか、退屈だとか、全く感じませんでした)
She didn't use any high-tech tools like iPad or Mac.
(Mac や、iPadのようなハイテクなツールを使わず)
All she used was a pen and several pieces of paper, but the presentation was super well-organized, well-structured, and easy-to-follow from the beginning to the end, which was really impressive.
(使ったのはペンと紙を数枚だけでしたが、プレゼンテーションは非常によくまとまり、構造がしっかりしていて、最初から最後まで理解しやすくなっていて、本当に印象的でした)
Her presentation covered quite a lot of things such as basic knowledge about insurance, trends on the market and an approach to keep having healthy relationships with my loved ones for the rest of my life.
(濱脇さんのプレゼンは、保険に関する基本的な知識、市場のトレンド、そして人生の残りの時間を大切な人と健康的な関係を維持し続ける方法など、かなり多くのことをカバーしていました)
From the 90-minute presentation with a lot of things to learn, what stood out to me the most was that she is not an average salesperson.
(90分間のプレゼンテーションで多くのことを学ぶ中で、私にとって最も目立ったのは、濱脇さんが一般的な営業の方ではないということでした)
She explained to me that her title is "life planner".
（彼女の肩書は "ライフプランナー" と、説明してくださいました）
According to her, the role of life planner is to provide the best possible options and completely personalized service for each one of their clients so that they can enjoy their lives to the fullest.
(濱脇さんによれば、ライフプランナーの役割は、クライアントの一人一人に最高の選択肢と、完全にパーソナライズされたサービスを提供し、最大限に人生を楽しむことができるようにすることだそうです)
From the way she talked during the presentation, I could easily tell how much pride she takes in being a life planner and how passionate she is about what she's doing, which was really inspiring and encouraging for me too.
(プレゼンテーション中の濱脇さんの話し方から、ライフプランナーであることにどれだけの誇りを持ち、自分の仕事に情熱を持っているかが伝わってきました。これは本当に私にとっても、とても刺激になり活力をいただきました)
If you're interested, I recommend that you should have a chance to listen to her super informative and valuable presentation.
