東京藝大「芸術未来研究場展」のプレスツアーに参加してみた
芸術未来研究場展について
今年四月に開設した芸術未来研究場の活動を展覧会形式で紹介する試みです。
2023年11月10日、東京藝術大学大学美術館で開催された「芸術未来研究場展」の初日に足を踏み入れました。この日は、DOORプロジェクトの出展者としてではなくプレス取材として、日比野学長主催のプレスツアーとシンポジウムに参加しました。
◆研究所ではなく「研究場」？
多くの人が最初に気になる研究”場”の漢字について。
今年4月に開設した芸術未来研究場は研究所ではなく、多くの人が集まる場所という意味合いで「研究場」と名付けられています。閉じられた研究所ではなく、多様なプレイヤーが集まり、開かれた社会に向けたアートの実践と未来の共創できる「場」を目指しています。
◆芸術が未来に効く！がテーマ
この展覧会では、アカデミックなだけではなく、芸術の創造性から生まれた作品やプロジェクトが展示されます。
日比野学長が率いるプレスツアーは、5つの領域の作品の作者達との会話を交えながら会場を回りました。私自身も含め、作者から直接作品の説明を聞くことで、新たなコミュニケーションが生まれました。
この展示で注目したいのが各領域の天井の垂れ幕です。天井を見上げると、メッセージが記された垂れ幕があり、それらのメッセージと作品を交互に観ることで、作品の背景やストーリーについて考えるきっかけとなります。
◆研究場の5つの領域について
芸術未来研究場では、社会と共に未来のアートを創り出していきます。様々なステークホルダーや学内外の組織と連携し、以下の5つの領域を中心に活動しています。これらは将来的に増減する可能性もあります。
（１）ケア・コミュニケーション領域
医療、福祉や地域コミュニティをはじめとするWell-beingな社会づくりにおけるアートの社会的価値を探求する。
私が参加しているDOORプロジェクト、Diversity on the Arts Project （通称：DOOR）の詳細はこちらのサイトを参照ください。
こちらのケア・コミュニケーション領域のDOORプロジェクトで私の作品（静穏の場所から見える世界 - The World Seen from here）も展示させてもらっています。展示に参加でき貴重な体験となりました。
（２）アートDX領域
デジタル技術やICT技術を活用した教育研究を推進し、アートの可能性を拡げる。
（３）クリエイティヴアーカイヴ領域
多様化する表現手法に対応した、アートの保存・継承と、新たな創造への活用に関する研究を推進する。
（４）キュレーション領域
対話と協働を通してアートと現代社会との関係性を紡ぎ上げる人材の育成と実践研究。
（５）芸術教育・リベラルアーツ領域
東京藝大における教育のあり方を探究しながら、より幅広い対象に芸術教育を拡げ、地域や年齢、社会的属性に関係なく、誰もが自身の人生の中にアートを感じられる社会づくりを推進する。
最後に
芸術未来研究所はファインアートや建築、工芸、音楽などの枠だけではなく、上記５つの領域が枠を超えて混じり合い、芸術と社会の未来を切り拓く新たなプラットフォーム「芸術未来研究場」となり、今ここから始まっていくのだと感じました。
