私の好きな場所
今週の月曜日、大学入試がそろそろ始まるので思い切って頭の宮四方神社に行くことにした。幼いころから「頭」の神様というのが嬉しくてよく連れて行ってもらった神社だ。今年もすでに3回目。
FBでアメリカの友人にも紹介したかったので、久しぶりに英文で説明文を書いてみた。
On Monday, I went to one of my favorite shrines in our prefecture. It is Kobenomiya-Yomo-Shrine.
It has a beautiful river running in the property.
月曜日、私のお気に入りの県内の神社の1つに行きました。頭の宮四方神社です。そこには、美しい川が流れています。
It is said that local kids found a skull in the river long time ago, and locals built a shrine to deify the skull. So, this shrine is said to be about "head." I often visit it and pray for my students to do their best in school or exams that may change their future.
大昔、川の中で遊んでいた子どもたちが髑髏を見つけ、その髑髏を祀った神社だそうです。そのため、この神社は頭の神様です。私は、よくこの神社を訪れて、生徒たちが学校や自分の将来を変えるかもしれない試験で最善を尽くせるように祈ります。
I usually like seeing rivers running and I always wish I could spend forever there. The river in the shrine is so transparent and looks so clear and cool that it can calm me down in many ways.
私は、川の流れを見るのが好きです。いつもそこでずっと時間を過ごしていたいと思います。唐子川は、水が澄んできれいで、涼し気なのでいろんな意味で気持ちが落ち着きます。
We call a place we go to pray in Shintoism a shrine. We believe in gods and goddesses everywhere in our life. I’m from a Buddhist family but Shintoism, I believe, is something in our ethics and I visit shrines occasionally.
神道におけるお祈りの場所が「神社」です。私たちは、生活の中で様々なものに神様が宿ると信じています。私は仏教徒ですが、神道は、私たちの倫理観の中にあるものだと信じていて、ときどき神社を訪れます。
