移動と読書：ベトナム63省バイク旅で出会った本【本：WHATEVER YOU THINK THINK THE OPPOSITE】

朝。キッチンでコーヒーを入れる。
本棚を見つける。

ほとんどの本がベトナム語だったけれど、どこかの空港の本屋さんでみた英語の本が一冊あった。

『WHATEVER YOU THINK THINK THE OPPOESITE』

表示をめくると、他の誰かが、この場所へ捧げた本だった。名前はVanさん。SGとあるので、きっとベトナムのサイゴン（Saigon）、ホーチミンの方だろう。

私と、同じことをしている方がいた。
どこかの国や街で本を購入し、移動し、読書をし、次の旅先で見つけた本棚に本を残して、次の場所へ移動する。

きっと、似たような趣向や趣味の人々に伝わっていく

Don't bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. Remember what Jean-Lue Godard said: "It's not where you take things from - it's where you take them to."

映画、音楽、本、絵画、詩、写真、会話、夢、木々、建築、道の表示、雲、光、そして影。自分の魂に響くものを。

そうすると、あなたの人生が、仕事が、「盗み」が、本物になる。

数年前、ヨーロッパを旅していたときに、旅行の日程を詰め込んで、とにかく多くの国に、街に、訪問したい気持ちでいっぱいだった。あの頃の自分にとって、どれだけ効率よく多くの場所を周れるかが、一番大事だった。数時間滞在して、旅程を少し話して、宿の人に「忙しいね」と言われることが常だった。Slow down という言葉を何度も言われても、あの頃は耳に入っては出ていっていた。

今は、「次、どこ行くの？いつ出発するの？」と聞かれても、「まだ決めていない」と、カフェで本を読みながら答える。Slow down.
