日本人も知らない、漢字が漢字たる所以。

外国人向けに漢字の説明文を作ってみたら、自分含めネイティブの日本人も知らなさそうな内容が結構出てきておもしろかったのでアップします。

【kanji history】※下部に日本語訳あります。
Kanji is one of the Japanese letters.
Kanji was born in China about 3300 years ago.
And the time has passed, kanji came to Japan about 1600 years ago.
Also, the time has passed, Japanese people have created a kanji native to Japan.
So in modern times, Chinese kanji and Japanese kanji are some are the same letters but some are not.
By the way, 『シ(sanzui)』 parts of『漢』is meaning water.
But, most Japanese people also don't know, why kanji has the meaning of water.
This time, I'd like to explain that.
By way of introduction,
China has big rivers of the Yellow River and the Changjiang River.
There is a river called the Han river（漢水） between those.
And there is a place called the Hanzhong（漢中）the middle reaches of the Han river.
Once upon a time,
There was ”Ryuu Hou” who the king of Hanzhong（漢中） of China.
Ryuu Hou unified all of China in 202 B.C, and he became emperor.
He named that country the Han（漢）after Hanzhong（漢中） of his territory.
There are various theories of the Origin of called kanji(hanji) but, the Han established the characters or the Han have great force and so on.
In summary, the origin of the called kanji is the name of the China river.
for your information,
『漢』s' pronounce is "han" in China and another one "kan" in Japan.
So it has pronounced "kanji”（漢字） in Japan.

【漢字の歴史】
漢字は日本語の文字の1つです。
漢字は約3300年前に中国で生まれました。

そして時が経ち、漢字は約1600年前に日本にやってきました。
また時が経ち、日本人は日本固有の漢字を作りました。

そのため現代では、中国の漢字と日本語の漢字で、同じ文字であるものとそうでないものがあります。

ちなみに 『漢』の 『ｼ（さんずい）』の部分は水を意味します。
しかし、ほとんどの日本人も、なぜ漢字が水の意味を持っているのかを知りません。

今回はそれについて説明したいと思います。

はじめに、
中国には黄河と長江の大きな川があります。
その間に漢水と呼ばれる川があります。
そして漢水の中流には漢中と呼ばれる場所があります。

昔々、中国の漢中の王である劉邦がいました。
劉邦は紀元前202年に中国全土を統一し、皇帝になりました。
彼はその国を自身の領土、漢中（漢中）にちなんで漢（漢）と名付けました。

漢字（漢字）と呼ばれる起源は諸説ありますが、漢が文字を制定した事や、漢が大きな力を持っていた事からなどのようです。
とにもかくにも、漢字と呼ばれる起源の元をたどると、中国の川の名前に行き着くようです。

ご参考までに、
『漢』の発音は、中国では「han」、日本では「kan」です。
そのため、日本では「kanji」と発音しています。
