teaching training session
Yesterday I attended a teaching training session in Osaka.
（昨日、大阪でティーチング研修に参加しました）
The session was conducted by a trainer with many years of experience as a teacher.
（そのセッションは、長年の講師経験を持つトレーナーによって行われました）
The session was divided into three sections that covered grammar, listening, and reading.
（セッションは文法、リスニング、リーディングをカバーする3つのセクションに分かれていました）
Besides me, there were three attendees there and a few weeks in advance, each one of us was assigned several tasks by the trainer.
（私以外にも、そこには3人の参加者がおり、数週間前に私たちそれぞれにトレーナーからいくつかの課題が割り当てられました）
During the session, we were supposed to take turns and demonstrate our teaching skills based on the assignments in front of the trainer and the other teachers. (Except for the one who plays a role as teacher, everyone else including the trainer acts as a student.)
（セッション中、私たちは順番に、割り当てられた課題に基づいてトレーナーや他の先生の前でティーチングスキルを実演することになっていました：先生役の1人を除き、トレーナーを含む他の全員が生徒役になります）
As you can imagine, it's quite nerve-racking to perform in front of all the experienced teachers.
（想像できるように、経験豊富な先生たちの前でパフォーマンスをするのはかなり緊張します）
What made it even more challenging was that we had no idea which part of the assignments the trainer would assign each one of us.
（さらにチャレンジングだったのは、トレーナーが私たちそれぞれに、課題のどの部分を割り当てるかわからなかったことです）
What I was given was both a grammar part and a listening part.
（私が当てられたのは、文法とリスニングパートの両方でした）
I was not so sure if I had prepared thoroughly for the assigned tasks, especially I was not that confident about my ability to use the whiteboard effectively.
（私は割り当てられた課題に十分に準備をしているかどうか自信がありませんでした、特にホワイトボードを効果的に使う能力に自信がありませんでした）
Regardless of my concerns, I handled the situation quite nicely.
（その懸念とは裏腹に、私は状況をまあまあ上手く切り抜けました）
Probably, I was too self-critical and underestimated my own abilities.
（多分、私は自分に対して批判的すぎて、自分の能力を過小評価していました）
Why I thought this way was that I received praise from the trainer and the other teachers for not only my overall teaching skills but also my effective use of the whiteboard.
（私がそう考えた理由は、私の全体的なティーチングスキルだけでなく、ホワイトボードの効果的な使用についてもトレーナーや他の先生から褒められたからです）
A moment like this gives me confidence and makes me feel I've grown as a teacher.
（こうした瞬間は私に自信を与え、私が先生として成長したと感じさせてくれます）
After my turn was over, I took the other three teachers' lessons as a student.（自分の番が終わると、私は他の3人の教師の授業を生徒として受けました）
It was such an enriching and inspiring experience because the way all the experienced teachers taught helped me see new ways to structure my lessons and improve my teaching methods.
（経験豊富な先生たちの教え方が、新しいレッスンの組み立て方や、ティーチング法を改善するきっかけを私に与えてくれました）
Over the course of the three-hour session, I experienced many different kinds of feelings, such as nervousness, relief, happiness, motivation, encouragement, and inspiration.
（3時間のセッションの間に、私は緊張、安堵、幸福、やる気、励まし、そしてインスピレーションなど、さまざまな感情を経験しました）
It was such a valuable session.

❶Nerve-racking：緊張を感じさせる
Taking an exam can be nerve-racking for some students.
(試験を受けることは、一部の学生にとっては緊張を感じさせるものです)
