真の酒飲み

July is just around the corner.
（7月がもうすぐそこに来ています）
Japan is going through the one of the worst seasons in a year.
（日本は１年で最悪の季節を迎えているところです）
According to a weather forecast I checked out this morning, we're expecting another unstable week ahead with lots of rain, cloudiness and not to mention the insanely high humidity!
（今朝確認した天気予報によると、また来週も不安定な1週間が予想されています。たくさんの雨と曇、そして信じられないほど湿度が高いのは言うまでもありません！）
Just the thought of having to put up with the uncomfortable muggy weather conditions for the next few weeks drives me crazy, but I want to allow myself to put it aside and think of something fun instead.
（これから数週間、不快なじめじめした天候に耐えなければならないという考えだけで、狂ってしまいそうですが、それを置いておいて楽しいことを考えることにしたいと思います）
Regardless of the unpleasant weather, there's something exciting I always do this time of year.
（不快な天候に関係なく、毎年この時期に私がいつもする楽しいことがあります）
That is going out for a drink with my dad to celebrate his birthday.
（それは父と一緒に飲みに行って、父の誕生日を祝うことです）
His birthday is the second week of July.
（父の誕生日は7月の第2週です）
Annually, he and I go to one of those beer gardens at around Himeji station.（毎年、父と私は姫路駅周辺のビアガーデンに行きます）
This is also we do every year.
（これも私たちが毎年行うことです）
Because it's humid and hot outside, so we finish the first glass of beer as soon as we sit at the table.
（外はじめじめして暑いので、私たちはテーブルに着いた途端に最初のビールをすぐに飲み終えます）
We are both big drinkers.
（私たちはどちらも大の酒好きです）
It's obvious that I got the DNA from him.
（私が彼からDNAを受け継いだのは明らかです）
It's so quick to the point where we should do kampai standing around a refill machine.
（ビールを注ぐ機会の周りで乾杯をしたほうがいいんじゃないかというくらい、早いです）
After having good amount of beer, we move on to my dad's go-to pub and enjoy drinking and singing until 1 or 2am.（My dad is a great singer.）

My dad is a true drinker.
（私の父は真の酒飲みです）
He isn’t a sommelier or an expert, but to me, he is the coolest drinker I’ve ever known.
（彼はソムリエでも専門家でもありませんが、私にとっては今まで出会った中で一番かっこいい酒飲みです）
I’ve learned so many things from him about drinking cultures here in Japan.（私は日本の酒文化について、彼から多くのことを学びました）
He drinks a lot, but I've never seen him wasted, doing something rude, saying something that goes over the line.
（彼はたくさん飲みますが、彼が酔っ払っている姿や、失礼なことをする姿、度を超えたことを言ったことを見たことがありません）
The most important lesson that l learned from him is the importance of being a good drinker and drinking a good sake.
（彼から学んだ最も重要な教訓は、良い酒の飲みであること、そして良い酒を飲むことの重要性です）
I need to explain a little bit more what “being a good drinker and drinking a good sake” means.
（「良い酒飲み、良い酒を飲むこと」がどういう意味かをもう少し説明する必要があります）
This is what my dad once told me.
（これは父がかつて私に言ったことです）
"You always keep in mind that you have to drink good sake. It's not about how the drink in front of you tastes. It's all about interactions with the person you drink with. Drinking together allows you to have a meaningful and deep conversation. You can even speak your mind at times, which can help you get to know each other and have a better relationship. This is how I define "good sake"."
（「いつも心に留めておかなあかんことは、良い酒を飲むこと。目の前の酒がうまいかどうかじゃなくてな。一緒に飲む人とのやりとり。一緒に酒を飲むことで、深い会話をができるし、時に本音だって言える。そうすることで、お互いのことが分かるし、より良い関係を築ける。そういうのが「良い酒」やぞ」）
"I really hate it some people drink too much, lose their cool and start acting like the world revolves around them. That's such a disgraceful thing to do. Most importantly, that's disrespectful to sake."
（「時々飲みすぎて我を失い、世界は自分中心に回ってるんやみたいになってまう人おるやろ。あれは本間に嫌いやな。恥ずかしい。何よりも、酒に対して失礼や。」）
I think I’ll keep drinking sake for the rest of my life as long as my body allows me to do so.
（私は体が許す限り、これからも一生酒を飲み続けると思います）
I hope to drink a good sake with as many people as possible and hopefully, I want to be a true sake drinker like my dad in the future.
（できるだけ多くの人と良い酒を飲めたらと思います。そして、将来的には父のように、真の酒飲みになりたいです）

❶Unstable:不安定な、安定していない
The political situation in the region remains unstable due to ongoing conflicts.
(その地域の政治状況は、継続する紛争のために不安定なままです)
❷Humidity：湿度
The humidity in the tropical rainforest was so high that everything felt damp.(熱帯雨林の湿度が非常に高く、すべてが湿って感じられました)
❸Muggy：蒸し暑い、じめじめした
Walking outside in the muggy weather made her clothes stick to her skin uncomfortably.
(じめじめした天気の中で外を歩くと、彼女の服が肌に不快に張り付きました)
❹Sommelier：ソムリエ（ワインや他のアルコール飲料の専門家）
The sommelier suggested a fine champagne to accompany their seafood dinner.
(ソムリエは彼らのシーフードディナーに合う上質なシャンパンを提案しました)
❺Disgraceful：恥ずべき、不名誉な
His behavior at the ceremony was disgraceful; he insulted the guests and disrupted the event.
(彼の式典での振る舞いは恥ずべきものでした。彼は客を侮辱し、イベントを混乱させました)
