十数年前によく聴いていたこの曲。
（"がんばっていきまっしょい"という映画の主題歌としてご存知の方もいらっしゃるのでは）


20代の時に東南アジアを旅していたことがあって、ラオスのメコン川にゆっくり沈む夕日と雄大な山を見ながら、なんて美しい歌声なんだろうと何度も聴いていた記憶があります。

最近ふと思い出して、また聴いてみたらいろんな風景や感情や、匂いまで蘇ってきました。

音の記憶。

当時は歌詞の意味はわからずに聴いていたんだけど、歌詞を調べてみたら、川と船に深い繋がりがある曲だったんですね。


リーチェさんご本人によるコメントでは、
『オギヨディオラ』とは韓国の舟歌のフレーズで、船を漕ぐときのかけ声のようなものなのですが、簡単に言うと、どんなにつらいことがあっても、愛する人と一緒ならば乗り越えていける、さあ一緒に船を漕ぎ出そうという、希望を唄った内容の詞です。と言われているそう。
