My experiences in NZ #41

Hey there. How've you been? Hope you all had a great Christmas!

I'd love to continue from where I ended last time; it was already two months past!

Probably, "she" will come back to Japan within this year.

After selling my bike, I started packing.

On the day of my departure, some friends came to see me off to the airport; a friend who had a car drove me there.

At the check-in counter at the airport, I had to go against a struggle. My luggage, which I wanted to leave, was overweight, so I had to replace my carry-on luggage. My friends helped me with that.

Fortunately, my challenge was to succeed and could get on an airplane.

I don't remember what I was doing onboarding, but I had transit at Changi Airport in Singapore, the same as the outward journey.

Finally, I landed at the nearest airport to my place. At Customs, I had to pay a tariff since I had bought some cigarettes and alcohol for souvenirs, and those exceeded the range of tax exemption, but unfortunately, I didn't have any Japanese yen with me.

I asked the customs officer if I could leave there momentarily and pick up some money from my family, and I was permitted to. I went out the gate, found my close friend first, and ran to her, "I arrived! By the way, can you borrow some money, please?" She was surprised but handed some money to me. Then, I returned to the customs officer and paid the extra tax, and finally, I was set free!

I ran to my close friend again. Next, I found my father, told him what had happened, and asked him to give me money to repay my friend.

These were my experiences in NZ. Looking back now, I have some regrets.

I should have researched employment opportunities, including tourist season beforehand. If I did that, I might be able to work at a hotel.

More importantly, I should have learned and been able to speak English more!

Thanks for reading!
I might write more if I recall something to share regarding NZ.
See you around!
