“Loneliness”

“You know the husband of mrs. Tanaka has been hospitalized recently”.

“It’s gonna be rainy this weekend. I don’t know what to do with all the laundry”.

Well, I was reading weekly JUMP, listening to that kind of chitchat old ladies had like a radio, at the hair salon, with dawning light peeping in, my mom runs.

I was with those old ladies, sometimes having their hair permed, seated in the bench in the waiting room.

I brought some cups of coffee and refreshments to them and even rubbed their shoulders.

I was like an idol of the store so to say...

I really treat old ladies gently unlike younger generations.

It’s true that the surrounding environment makes one’s manner.

Since the day my dad got sick I got to answer the reservation calls for the hair salon more frequently.

“Is your mother out for shopping? Your mother hasn’t answered my phone call. When do you think she gets home?”

“Well... might be out for shopping or chitchatting with her friends...
Let me tell her she got the message from you!”

That’s the son of the parents of private business owner. I kept it to myself that she is skipping her job and went gambling.

She couldn’t face my dad’s illness and got addicted to gambling to escape from the reality.

And she got jealous of the customers who have fine husband.

That’s a lot to worry about.

Teenage sensitive I just wanted my mother to be a supportive figure of our family not a woman.

That’s how everything started to change.

My father was physically disabled. My mother was addicted to gambling.

I was feeling even more lonely as I had more things that I could never tell my friends.
