July 23, 2023: My Books, My Wife (1) （ボクの本と妻（１））

The other day, I was very irritated and frustrated with what my wife did. I have two rooms of my very own in my house. One is a bedroom. I only use it to sleep or do stretches. The other is a room with a desktop PC. I stay there for most of the day. I work there or write articles for ‘note’. Or sometimes, I read a book or am in a daze. The room is something like a castle for me, and it always calms me down.
I have bookshelves in both rooms, and they are filled with a lot of books. When I put my books in them, I have my own rules. They are arranged according to how closely related they are or how much they satisfied me. But they are not always well-organized. Some books are piled up high, and some are off the shelves. So none other than me must be able to see how the books are lined. They may appear to be lined at random. But as said earlier, they are lined based on my own rules. So, I really hate it when my books are rearranged without my consent.

　先日、妻にイラっとすることがありました。家にはボク専用の部屋が２つあります。一つは、ベッドルームです。ここは、ストレッチをするときか寝る時にしか使いません。もう一つが、デスクトップパソコンがある部屋です。この部屋は、パソコンで仕事をしたり、noteの記事を書いたりするときに使います。また、本を読んだり、一人でぼーっとしたいときにこの部屋を使います。たぶん、一日の中で、この部屋で過ごす時間が一番長い部屋です。いわば、この部屋はボクの城のようなもので、ここにいると落ち着きます。この部屋とベッドルームには、書棚があり沢山の本が並んでいます。どの棚の本も、他の本との関連性や読後の満足度など、僕なりの基準で並べています。また、本は整然と並んでいるわけではありません。縦に積み上げたり、たまには、他以外のところに置いている時もあります。従って、人がみると、わけのわからない並べ方をしているように見えるのですが、この並べ方を勝手に変えられると、すごく不愉快になります。
