残念、イングランド、イタリアに敗れる(EURO 2020 Final:Heartbreak,England beaten by Italy )

I was heartbroken when England was beaten by Italy at EURO 2020 Final. The match was very thrilling and spectacular. But Italy was very tough and crushed my anticipation that England might beat Italy. I hope to watch such thrilling matches at the World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
Yesterday, EURO 2020 Final and the Wimbledon men’s final were held with full crowd in the UK (60,000 fans for EURO 2020 Final and 15,000 fans for Wimbledon). When I saw on TV that the fans were excited at both matches, I was fully aware that professional sports cannot exist without fans.
In addition, I realized how enthusiastic Europeans are about football. The enthusiasm is far beyond that of football or baseball fans in Japan.  I was very happy to have shared such enthusiasm and excitement.

残念ながら、イングランドがイタリアに敗れました。「ひょっとして」と期待していたのですが。イタリアはさすがにしぶといですね。でも、見応えのある試合でした。来年開催のワールドカップに期待です。
昨日、英国でEURO2020の決勝戦と共にウィンブルドンでテニスの男子決勝戦も開催されました。両試合とも、満員の観客の中で開催されました。ウィンブルドンが1.5万人、EURO2020が6万人の観客です。テレビで観客が大盛り上がりしているのを観て、スポーツは観客とセットで成り立っていると痛感しました。
それにしても、英国のみならずヨーロッパのサッカー熱はすごいですね。日本のサッカーや野球熱どころではないですね。お陰で、ボクも楽しませてもらいました。
