(就活)38年間、その仕事をやる覚悟があるか?

就活をする大学生は、ひたすら有名な会社に入りたがる。だが、大切なのは、会社の名前ではなくて、仕事内容だろう。例えば、証券会社のリテール(個人)営業とか、損保の自動車保険や代理店営業、メーカーの経理、などだ。「合わなかったら転職すればいい?」そうかもしれない。しかし、未経験の職種への転職は、20代だけに限られている。私も転職を何度もしているが、基本的にはSAP関連であり、職種はさほど変わってはいない。

つまり、転職しようが、基本的には職種を変えることはできない。22歳で大学を卒業して、38年間、その仕事を続ける覚悟があるだろうか?

「こんなはずじゃなかった」と言っている社会人はものすごく多いぞ。本当に、その仕事でよいのか?自己分析をしっかりやるべきだと思う。

一つだけ、職種を変える方法がある。それは、大企業によくある公募制度を使うのだ(社内FAともいう)。しかし、公募も、基本的には若い人が優先だ。オッサンになってから、未経験の職種でも大歓迎と言ってくれる部署は少ないだろう。

比較的、別の仕事に取り組みやすいのはベンチャー企業だ。なぜならば、ベンチャー企業は少数精鋭で、常に人手不足なので、一人で色々な仕事を掛け持ちすることも多い。そのため、掛け持ちして、別の仕事にチャレンジすることもできるだろう。どうしても今の仕事から別の仕事にチャレンジしたい場合は、ベンチャー企業への転職というのが現実的だろう。もちろん、面接などで、掛け持ちできるのか、しっかり確認する必要はある。
