Kumamoto trip

I feel like it’s quite a while since I last posted an English diary, or even used English. It might take me some time to get back into the swing of writing in English and speaking English, so my English might be kinda awkward until I brush up on my skills.

By the way, I had a lot of fun on my vacation. I went on two-night trip to Kumamoto with my partner. I’ve always aspired to visit Mt. Aso and see the beautiful, spectacular landscapes there. The views were literally as amazing as I expected: lively green meadows, cattle wandering around, and summer clouds gently drifting across the sky. The word 'picturesque' perfectly captures that unforgettable moment.

see?
it seems a someone's painting!

When we visited a soba shop (蕎麦屋), there were three big Akita inu (秋田犬) dogs outside, looking tired from the summer heat. We ordered a comparison set with three different types of soba 粗挽き, 十割 and 二八(?), but I couldn't tell the difference between them. I'm not good with distinguishing tastes.

how cute he is!
see you soon <3

I love browsing local bookstores that the owners select books based on their taste. I got "The Aliens Room" (宇宙人の部屋) by 小指 from a local bookstore in Kumamoto. It wasn't the book I planned to get, but it just caught my attention. Besides, I couldn’t meet the book I was looking for. The book I got is all about alcohol addiction, the author struggled for 17 years dealing with friends who had alcohol addiction, while she sometimes lost herself in the process. The author describes her unique friends as 'aliens' coz they were hard to understand for her.

nice encounter.
i feel like it makes me be nicer to others

I hope you had fun on your vacation. Have a lovely day.
