今回は1965年に発表された、ビートルズの楽曲『Nowhere Man』について。

The Beatles『Nowere Man』

『Nowere Man』は1965年のビートルズのアルバム『Rubber Soul』に収録された楽曲です。
レノン＝マッカートニー名義となっていますが、ジョン・レノンによって書かれたそうです。
日本では『ひとりぼっちのあいつ』という邦題がついていますが、個人的には元の『Nowere Man』というタイトルが好きですね。

印象深いのは2005年の浜田省吾の楽曲『初恋』で引用されていたことです。

ある意味では浜田省吾の自己紹介ソングともなっている『初恋』ですが、この中の次の歌詞の後に「He's a real nowhere man」とコーラスが続くのです。

さらに僕が参加した2007年のホールツアー『ON THE ROAD 2006-2007 "MY FIRST LOVE IS ROCK'N'ROLL"』では、『初恋』のアウトロで『Nowere Man』の冒頭の歌詞を歌っていました。
これが本当に印象的で、このライブが収録されたDVDは何度も何度も観てましたね。
自分自身の気持ちとして、初めて好きになったビートルズの曲でもありました。
ビートルズのカバーバンドをやっている叔父のライブでも、この曲を演奏してくれた時は本当に嬉しかったくらいでした。

まとめ

こんな感じで、ビートルズの『Nowere Man』の紹介でした。
浜田省吾が歌の中で引用していたことから知った曲ですが、ライブでは冒頭をそのまま歌ってくれたのが本当に印象的でした。
後に自身が参加したライブで何度も聴いたことから、ビートルズの曲で1番好きなのは『In My Life』となりましたが、僕個人としては『Nowere Man』が原点ですね。
