去年ぐらいから、 @petebarakan さんのラジオを聴くようになり、今まで以上に映画や音楽、社会情勢といった情報に耳を傾けるようになった。彼をきっかけに観た映画や聴き始めたアーティストは多い。

ちょうど自分の親父と同い年の彼は、74年に来日。40年近く日本にいる訳だが、時折り日本語の読み方を間違えたり、予告も無く音楽が切れてCMに入るシーンがあり、普通なら気を悪くするリスナーもいると思うが、僕は何故かとても愛着があってチャーミングだなぁ、ズルいなぁと思わずクスッと笑い彼を許してしまう。

そんな彼が絶賛してやまない映画"American Utopia"を劇場に観に行ってきた。勿論期待はしていたが、僕の想定を大きく上回る素晴らしい内容で、ここ数年劇場で観た映画ではNo. 1を更新した。歌、踊り、スピーチ、演奏、ヴィジュアル、演出、照明、撮影、全てが素晴らしく、何度も込み上げるものがあった。去年より引き続きライヴや音楽イベントなどに行けなくなり久しいですが、 @davidbyrneofficial とバンドメンバーが全身全霊をかけ音楽を表現する力はとても迫力があり、勇気づけられます。昨日のROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2021の中止のお知らせなど、エンターテイメントの楽しみが奪われるなか、少しでも音楽を体感したい方、是非おすすめです。

He came to Japan in 1974, the same age as his father.  I've been in Japan for almost 40 years, but sometimes I make a mistake in reading Japanese, and there are scenes where the music runs out and goes into commercials without notice, so I think there are listeners who are usually offended, but for some reason I am very I'm attached and charming, I laugh and forgive him without thinking that it's sly.

I went to the theater to see the movie "American Utopia" that he praised.  Of course I was expecting it, but it was a wonderful content that far exceeded my expectations, and it was the No. 1 movie I watched in theaters in the last few years.  Singing, dancing, speeching, playing, visuals, directing, lighting, shooting, everything was great, and there was something that was crowded over and over again.  It's been a long time since I haven't been able to go to live performances and music events since last year, but the power of @davidbyrneofficial and the band members to express their music with all their might is very powerful and encouraging.  It is recommended for those who want to experience music as much as possible while the enjoyment of entertainment is deprived, such as the announcement of the cancellation of ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2021 yesterday.
