本日はコペンハーゲンのDesignmuseumでやっている展示を見てきました。

LEARNING FROM JAPAN

その名の通り、デンマークのデザインは日本の伝統工芸に強く影響を受けてきたという展示で、日本の浮世絵や着物、日用雑貨など様々なものが展示してありました。

日本だと北欧の家具や雑貨が人気だったりしますが、その物たちに影響を与えていたのが日本の文化や伝統だったりして、こうやって文化が巡っているのがとてもいいなと感じます。

日本人もその背景から北欧の物にどこか懐かしさや愛着を感じてるのかもしれません。

デンマークも日本と同じ小さい国です。他の北欧諸国と比べてもデンマークは飛び抜けて面積が小さい国。人口にいたっては570万人くらいで、千葉県の人口よりも少ない。

なので限られた資源をどう有効に使うかを考え、シンプルで無駄のないデザインが浸透してきました。日本も小国であり、他国に比べて資源に恵まれていないために、技術を磨き、それを価値にしてきた歴史があります。

なんか距離はものすごい遠いようで、実つはとても関わりの深い国なんだなと、気がついた良い日。

I went to see the exhibition being now in Copenhagen.
LEARNING FROM JAPAN.
As described with its name, It is the exhibition which Danish design have been influenced strong from Japanese traditional craft, and the various things such as Kimono, Ukiyoe, and goods were displayed there.
these might be displayed in a history museum if here was Japan. While the furniture and goods are popular in Japan, the matter which have influenced those is Japanese culture and tradition, what the culture moves around such as that made my feeling better.
Japanese might also feel something nostalgia or attachment about the Nordic country’s things from that background.
Denmark is small country the same as Japan.
That is obviously compared to the other Nordic countries.
As for the population, it is fewer than the Japanese Chiba area. So, they think how to use the limited resources effectively, the design with simple and no waste has permeated. Japan is also small country, not endowed with the rich materials compared to other countries. So, we improve our skills, have the history which we have changed those skills to the value. The distance looks so far between Denmark and Japan, but actually we have had close ties. I recognised like that today.
