【話】戦車

あたたかな日差し、おだやかな空。

小鳥さえずり、兎がピョンと跳ねる。
そよ風に菜の花がのんびり揺れている。

絵のような、のどかな春の田園風景。

それらを無視して、戦車が進んでゆく。

厳しい装甲板と砲塔。威圧する砲身。
巨大な鋼鉄の芋虫が、不気味に地を這う。

木陰では、恋人たちが見つめ合っている。
若草の上に座り、手と手を握るふたり。

娘は静かに目を閉じて、あごを上げる。
その小さな唇に、若者の唇が近づく。

だが、唇は唇にたどり着けなかった。

とんでもない音がした。
娘は目を開く。

そこに若者の愛しい唇はなかった。
若者の鼻も、両目も、額も髪もなかった。

若者の首から上がなくなっていた。

横を見ると、そこに戦車の威容があった。
黒い砲口から、白煙があがっていた。

ハッチが開くと、指揮官が顔を出した。
娘を見下ろし、パイプに火をつける。

「どうだ、これでよくわかっただろう」

気持ち良さそうに煙を吐き出す。
「平和のありがたみ、とかいうものを」

方向転換をすると、戦車は去っていった。

娘の落ち着かない視線が、さ迷っている。
首から上の恋人をまだ探している。

娘は、首から下の恋人に尋ねてみた。
「ねえ、どこへ消えてしまったの？」

ごぼっ、と泡の吹き出るような音がした。

白い鳩が、どこか遠くへ飛んでゆく。

The Tank

Warm sunshine, mild sky.

Birds Twitter, the rabbit bounces up.
Rape blossoms are shaking slowly in the breeze.

Countryside scenery like idyll spring painting.

Ignoring them, one tank advances.

Severe armor plate and turret. Intimidating barrel.
A huge steel caterpillar creeps through the ground creepy.
