チンゲン菜の由来　JULY 22

今日の日記は手を抜きます！！

けど、

内容は今日僕が知った英語の知識を

チンゲン菜ってなんていうかしってますか？
chingensai?
chinese something???

実は、chingensai が近いんです
チンゲン菜を英語で表記すると
qinggengcai

調べても発音は出てこなかったので正確な発音はわからないですが
ほぼ日本語のちんげんさいの音に近そう
もしかして、チンゲン菜って英語が由来だったんじゃないかと
一人で興奮していました。

多分、昔の人がチンゲン菜の名前決めるときに
いろいろ考えたと思う
「なんにする？」
「いいの思い浮かばんね」
って会話してたと思う

「この植物、緑やけんさ白菜の法則にのっとって緑菜にする？」とか
「それはダサいし、なんなら全部植物！、緑やん」
「葉っぱの野菜全部、緑菜になるやん」って

ってなったときにある人が
「待ってみんな、この野菜の英語””qinggengcai”よ。
最後のcaiとかもう菜やん！
奇跡的にcaiと菜が音似てね？」って発言

もう歓声の嵐
「ナイス！！！」
「おまえ、よう気づいたやん」
「たまにはやるやん」

って感じで
qinggengcai
→くいんっげんさい
→くんげんさい
→ちんげん菜

てな、流れでチンゲン菜の名前決まったんじゃないかと今日一人で妄想してた
まぁそうだったかもねの話で

Do you know what qinggengcai is called?

Actually, chingensai is closer to qinggengcai.

I was excited to think that perhaps the English word for qinggengcai was derived from English.

I think people in the past probably thought a lot of things when deciding on a name for qinggengcai, like, “What do you want it to be?” I think they would have said, “I can't think of a good name for it. I think the conversation went something like this: “This plant is green, so let's follow the rule of Chinese cabbage and call it green cabbage! That's lame, and if you want to call them all plants, they can all be green vegetables.

When I was thinking, “Wait guys, this vegetable is ‘qinggengcai’ in English. The last word “cai” is already a vegetable! Miraculously, “cai” and “greens” sound alike, don't they? He said, “Miraculously, cai and chive sound alike, don't they?

The crowd cheered, “Nice! You noticed it!” ”You're good at it!

And so qinggengcai→sugenzai→kungensai→chinggensai.

I was wondering if the name “qinggengcai” was decided by the way of “qinggengcai”, and I thought it might have been so....
